Didn't we just lose a bunch of seats while Biden was running as a moderate Democrat? I was told Bernie would cause havoc on down ballot elections yet here we are.

Nope it's still AoC's and progressives fault because reasons even though 19/22 won their races and moderates dumped tens of millions into what should've been easy races and still lost.

Ticket splitting had Biden running ahead of the generic Democrat. Susan Collins also was the sole Republican who won somewhere where Trump didn't.

The moderates performed better.

Eh, I know we all discount this as not mattering now but Trump is a horrible person and wears it on the outside. Biden is an inoffensive white man.

There are plenty of reasons other than the terrible Republican policy agenda for ticket splitting against Trump this election, although even if you were choosing based on policy, Trump represents the worst of the right at the moment.

I would like to see solid evidence that policy matters. Manchin seems to slide by with a lot because he spends a ton of time identifying himself as a cranky old man from the rust belt that wants these darned new yorkers to get off his lawn with their crazy ideas.
