That said, I don't see anything inherently irresponsible about recommending you support local businesses, with the stipulation of respecting current safety regulations... which he didn't specify so theres that. That said, I don't know this guys full Twitter and political history, perhaps theres very good context for why people think he's dumb. I could still fault him for not mentioning respecting social distancing/safety regulations if you do eat-in at a restaurant but idk, maybe as a perfectly reasonable adult I just assume those things are implied... where as maybe many of his followers wouldn't, eh?

For the record, I'd personally I still much prefer carry-out and Delivery as its more convenient and I just hate people, but thats personal preference based on my fathers preexisting health condition, not everyone else needs to tip toe around like me. If you're obeying regulations and being smart about it, I don't see anything wrong with eating at a restaurant thats respecting all current covid-related regulation of your state, and that your state isn't stupid as fuck mind you.

Now, contextually, my assumption here isn't one-size fits all. it'll depend entirely on what state your in and how crazy you are. For instance, none of my leeway extends to Covid-Deniers or Anti-Maskers as they're fucking idiots and nutjobs. Plus your stats currently Covid growth rate might you know, be worth keeping an eye on.

It doesn't matter what the local restrictions are, it has been firmly established that dining in at a restaurant during this particular pandemic is one of the best ways to spread the disease. Doing so is incredibly reckless, regardless of the politics tying the hands of the local authorities.
