Yeah...Abbott is a fucking idiot. But his supporters and conservatives will lap that shit up.

ERCOT presented findings after the 2011 Winter Storm issue here in TX to the Government (Abbott was rolling Lt Gov at that time with good ol' boy Perry at the helm). ERCOT even stated we needed to upgrade the power infrastructure, and the TX govt said no.

You get what you fucking deserve I guess.

the last two points are Republican dogma, and the latest polling shows 50% of Republicans approve of gay marriage and 40% want the federal government to do more to fight climate change. these numbers are both exponentially higher than they were even a decade ago and support for both is far stronger in the younger cohorts of the Party.

the Republican Party is old, and it is dominated by those even older, but though it be hard to countenance it now the future of the Party will agree or has agreed to everything in that modernizing platform.

it's a bit like marijuana legalization where 55% of Republicans support federal legalization while the national party remains bitterly hostile to it as they listen to the louder and older 45%. young Republicans just don't favor the same positions as old Republicans.

Not surprised. I knew a few female Doms in the scene back in DMV area who actually lived in CA/CO and would be flown out by politicians to dominate them/peg them and all sorts of other stuff. One even decided to just move to DC because she had so many high paying clients it was better to buy a loft in downtown DC then fly back and forth every weekend.
