Uh, every adult should be able to own a home. A house isn't a home. A home is a home. If it's a small house or condo or apartment or whatever nobody should struggle to afford to keep a roof over their head.

There's a bit of a difference between having a home and owning a house. If someone wants to live an apartment that's great, they shouldn't need 5 jobs and large donations to the local police departments to do so.

There's no need to make exaggerations. People are literally turning houses into college-like dorm units because of housing policies nationwide. That is what current laws and policies look like, and I don't think the outcomes we are currently seeing should be our goal.

Complaining that people need houses to rent sometimes seems to be kinda missing the point. Those places don't exist! Which is why people are currently overpaying for what is available.

Gotta move to the city for work, but you gotta move to the country for affordable housing. Make it make sense.

To be fair I am living in a weird city that is strangely affordable with access to everything by foot or transit. Other cities lack a lot of the same basic needs. So my perspective is based on my surroundings. I can't fathom living in Phoenix or Tampa Bay.

I want rowhomes with coach houses back in the mainstream where you can choose to buy and rent out a flat while letting your parents grow old in your coach home instead of a sterile, pension-funneling retirement home.

A lot of people aren't "financially stable" enough to own a house only because of parasitic landlords that drive up housing prices to the point where normal people can't afford them.

To be fair I also feel that people who own multiple properties and use them as vacation homes or purely investments leaving the properties/houses empty are equally terrible and should be stopped.
If you want an investment buy commercial property. If you want a place to stay for a vacation stay in the fanciest hotel in the area.
