Mirror backup of win7 home premium

Boyfriend wants to backup his existing install from a raid to a single hard drive. Raid and new HD are 1 TB each. Home premium doesn't support software mirroring, can anyone recommend some software that will do this, or backup the drive so it can be used as a the boot drive so we can take the old hard drives out?

Software RAID? Or is the array visible as just "one drive" even from live systems? If that's the case stuff like Clonezilla should work. Just mirror the array to the single drive, unplug the array and try to boot from the new disk.
If there was any kind of software RAID from inside Windows involved you probably won't be able to boot that way, might be necessary to first enable the default SATA/AHCI drivers so Windows finds its partition(s). There are tons of how-to's on the net for this, most should be for the case that you want to switch from IDE-compatible mode to AHCI and not from RAID, but it should still work the same way.

http://avaxhome.ws/software/software...le_CD_401.html Download this, boot to it, image your RAID to an external, and then push the image back to the new drive you wanna go to.

so clonezilla isn't working. The 2 drives are mirrored in a raid 0, with 2 logical partitions. Clonezilla only sees the OEM partition that the manufacturer created for restore purposes, and the drive I want to copy to. Any other suggestions?

Edit: I also don't have an external drive, though I could slap the one drive in an external housing.

You said to push the image to an external drive, then back again. I can't do that. Would it still possibly see the logical drives and not the physical ones? That's the problem I'm running into, all software loads the 2 drives seperately instead of loading the logical drive on the raid.

I wont be back @ my boyfriends until Friday but I'll look at it then. I didn't ignore the link, I thought it couldn't do what I wanted it to.

How about Acronis Trueimage? We've used that to image raid systems in the past, but they used fairly well known hardware raid controllers.

Pretty sure the shadowprotect disc I linked can see logical drives/RAIDs.
