Unlink PoL ID from SE Account.

Has anyone been able to do so? This are the rules (According to SE) at the moment:

If you wish to unlink your PlayOnline ID from a Square Enix account, please click on "Additional Assistance" below to contact the SQUARE ENIX Support Center prior to starting the transfer process. It is possible for your account to be unlinked, which would allow for you to choose a new Square Enix account to transfer to.

If you have already completed the transfer process and wish to transfer to a different Square Enix account, the procedure may take several days to complete and is limited to the following cases:

- You accidentally transferred your PlayOnline ID to a Square Enix account for a different region.
- The Square Enix account you chose to transfer to had been compromised due to 3rd party access.

Please click on "Additional Assistance" below to contact the SQUARE ENIX Support Center for additional details.

That's great and all, but that is not my problem. I have a shared SE account with several "Friends" who, since the expansion, have been arguing and the SE password has been changed a couple of times by the SE account owner. It is getting old and I want out. Is it really necessary to say my SE account has been compromised? Has anyone found a way to bypass this?

Otherwise I don't think anyone knows. Probably shouldn't have linked your account with one you didn't own.

If you unlink your pol account i think it fucks up your account. Friend of mine did it and he basically had to lie and say his account got hacked to get it all fixed.

pretty sure unless they determine that your account actually was tied to the SE account by a third party they will just ban the POL ID.

At the time they were offering a Mog Satchel for a security key, so a friend of mine offered it to me. He linked the security key, got a few of us into his SE account, activated, and then de-activated. Worked like a charm.

I'd say keep calling SE until you get someone who's willing to do it. You'll call and you'll get a lot of people who say "sorry it can't be done". It can, but you have to be convincing, and you have to get someone who feels like doing it. Also, never chat with them. It gets you nowhere and they cut you off before you even finish, forcing you to wait in line again.

It sounds like you'll have to come up with a lie, though. Also, make sure you never say you're sharing it with your "friends". They'll never change it then. You'll probably have a hard time because you're not really the SE Account owner, and not even related to said person, but just give it a try and call until you can talk with someone who will hear you out.

I called Square Enix (SE), and everything seemed to go smooth. I did not have to lie, I told it how it was. I wanted out from a friends SE account which we synced 2-3 years ago and had no idea that we were suppose to sync to different SE accounts. The lady was nice, asked a couple of simple questions, and done. She said in about a week or so it should be transferred. Things to note: She asked for a blank SE account, so have one ready. I will wait it out and see what happens, post in a week.

You're lucky then, they're not supposed to unlink accounts for that reason. The posted rule has always been one person per POL account, and one person per SE Account. Account sharing is forbidden, and linking for such benefits has the problem that multiple people know the password, and it's not a hack because you intentionally gave it to them.

Even getting a relink for reason of moving between regions is a pain, and they claim it's a one-time thing after I fought them for 8 months to get them to do it at all.

Glad you appear to have gotten a swift resolution. If you talked to the lady I talked to, then you lucked out because she seems pretty cool.
