Frame Fighter Introduced within Warframe, 1v1 2D Arcade Mode

The Street Fighter-style mini-game is unashamedly titled “Frame Fighter” and it sees characters going toe to toe on a traditional 2D plane with health bars displayed above their heads. Players can choose from Excalibur, Volt, and Mag; each with their own set of special moves and characteristics. While Excalibur can activate a ground pound maneuver, for example, Volt is armed with anti-air electrical bolts. Once the battle begins, the first character to win two out of three rounds by way of knock-out is the champion. The fighters also have “prime” variations and more base characters can be unlocked by discovering fragments within the game.

Frame Fighter can be accessed through Warframe’s Cephalon Simaris area and purchasing the Ludoplex for 50,000 credits of the in-game currency Standing.

Coming to Switch November 20th

Probably means the Jarilo renderer will be out before then, since the team has been doing a lot of optimizations the past couple months, probably to lessen the processing overhead of the game in order to assist this Switch port, because by god this game loves to hammer your CPU cores.

Fortuna launches this week. It's a massive patch, but some of the highlights:

-Warframe's 2nd open world zone, takes place on Venus.
-In addition to archwings, you can use a new personal traversal item called the K-Drive. It's a hoverboard, and it can be modded.
-Hunting system. Idea is to capture local fauna for points, kind of like Simaris dailies. Also will have new fish and mining opportunities.
-Venus' analog to Cetus' Eidolons are called Orbs. They're big Corpus spider tanks.
-New warframe: Garuda. Very much vampire and gore inspired design.
-New pet type, customizable MOAs.
-New equipment customization system just like Zaws and Amps from Cetus, this time in the form of Secondaries.
-New sentinel type, the Oxylus. Locates containers.
-Bunch of new weapons, 3 new mod sets, and some cosmetics.
-Most important thing of all: new kavat and kubrow mod called "Fetch!"... it's vacuum for kubrows and kavats. At last.

I just hope we don't need to gild this content's equivalent of zaws/amps, because that was a chore and a half to regrind a thing you r30's already. K-Drive sounds fun but I can't see any reason to want to ever use it over Archwing for mobility, especially after the recent change of it being an instant toggle with no consumable, rather than waiting on the archwing to be delivered on the ground.

Apparently not. Oh well, will just leave these on the back burner like I did Zaws for the longest time.






Thus far Fortuna's stability is well above Plains' mess of a launch for its initial two weeks, but that's likely due to Fortuna piggybacking off of a lot of fixes/host-client adjustments that Plains had done to the core engine.



Still buggy as shit otherwise though. Had one guy get stuck on their Kdrive, so he goes to suicide to reset it (one of the consistent ways to 'fix' something in Warframe), and then ends up bleeding out while running around in the sky, defying gravity. Mission objective markers are also crap right now, trying their hardest to path slowly along the ground like it would in a regular tile mission, not outdoors like Plains. Or also just plain not showing for all but the host.

Once the honeymoon period wore off I feel like Fortuna is just POE again. I finished my rep and wondered what else there was to even do. Most of what I want is locked behind the later reps. Kdrive is fun though if not completely demoted to "grind these 3 rails for vent kid rep" already. I dunno it's a bit too gated to start imo. First night I got all the Garuda BPs, saw you can't make it until you're basically done with rep, did what I normally do and logged out.

I feel like I don't care about Floof shit as it's just ship decorations which I never cared about cluttering my floor. It also costs rep to find them which created a conflict of "do I buy this shit or wait and try to get to max rep sooner?"

I think I'm a victim of being way too hype and having expectations out of line lol. Only thing I'm still really excited for is getting my teeth into those Profit Takers.

Since I first played Warframe 2~ years ago, I've treated it like an MMO that I'm not addicted to. I'll grind anything and everything there is to completion, then I step away for 6-12 months, then repeat. The game is ridiculously fun and enjoyable. That said, I've always felt they've suffered on the content side and the repetitive nature of everything can only go so far. Weapon/Frame balance is borderline a joke at times too, but that can be forgiven to a point at least. With the right mods and play style, you can turn most things into a beast, just maybe not BiS.

I last played prolly 8-10 months ago now. I may come back soon, but I don't think there's enough content to sate my appetite for long enough.

Short of the change in mission types (for the love of god, buff the power cells in Excavation to 33.33% please), it's pretty much a retread of PoE which was what I was expecting mostly. Was slightly disappointed that the mining minigame was changed for PoE as well, as I figure they were going to go with having each planet do its own take on the minigames. Loads of bugs aside (they need to fix the one breaking objectives displaying on for non-hosts asap), only real issues I'm having is just general visibility. White white, and more white. Part of it is my shitty monitor blowing out whites a bit, but I have trouble picking out Corpus in a distance, which the game really seems to love drop-shipping them in from well outside of the objective area.



Do wish they had a quest chain for these kinda things though. Perhaps one per syndicate rank just for some semblance of progression, rather than this solo introductory -> now grind bounties, but given the F2P nature of the game I can see why they're rather reserved on anything that isn't farmable content.

Questline will inevitably be added, it's just a matter of when. Fortuna is being released in stages so they'll probably add the story with the next chunk that adds melee 3.0 and fortuna eidolon farming.

I figure if they're adding any new stuff to Fortuna, it'd be cycling limited time events like Plague Star/Ghouls on PoE. There's probably more players wanting to know what's going on with Apostasy/Chimera Prologues than Fortuna stuff anyhow. DE's hands are probably pretty full right now between new non-Fortuna story stuff that they teased awhile back, getting the rest of Fortuna implemented/buf-fixes, and Railjack. Plus whatever unannounced things they always got churning about, since they got that staff of 200+ at DE these days, and that other studio they opened earlier this year to work on another game.


I fully expect Railjack to be a glorious bug-ridden mess similar to week-1 PoE, because that's a lot of new systems at once to implement and sync across clients.

I'm a bit outta the loop with Warframe. Is that a PS4 exclusive or they just getting dibs on the trailer? Don't recall any of their previous marketing having a singular platform's branding.

Really not big on this type of content, and Nora never shuts up. I liked the general pacing the game had prior, but now you're stuck keeping up on daily/weekly challenges to keep on top of your Warframe min/maxing due to the Umbra forma reward, which'll take about three months to get at the current points reward?

Plus it seems like this just makes it even harder for new players to get certain mods/nitain/etc since they now have to pick and choose them after doing a few weeks of the challenges (since they won't be clearing many of the elite challenges early on) to get the wolf marks to even nab them. The kneejerk reaction for me in all of this is "Where's the $10 booster/expanded reward track?" for this 'battle pass'.
