How did the Sandalwood smell/feel? I was eyeing that one but decided to go with the safe Proraso choice. And no pre-shave cream/oil?

I didn't mind the smell of the Sandalwood at all. Makes me think of the barber shop i used to go to when i was young, so it was alright with me. The feel was glorious. As for pre-shave cream/oil, I hopped out of the shower to do so, and just put conditioner on it. Felt pretty legit. My hair is rather coarse, and I felt no resistance whatsoever while shaving.

I dunno, I used to, but then I heard it's only needed for long hair and it makes you bald if you rub on roots. That second one is probably false though.

Also, it makes hair softer right? So instead of standing straight, it falls flat more? Which means less volume for your hair?

I use conditioners that moisturize, because us blax lack the natural oils that honkies have, and nobody likes a nigga with dandruff.

I can't wait until I have the money to get a Merkur razor. The Proraso sensitive shave soap I just got was heaven and while is says the smell is green tea it just smells clean.

Its worth lurking the BST section of Badger & Blade. Quite often there are PIF deals where people will send you razors, soaps, blades, aftershaves, etc for just the cost to ship. There are even PIF deals sometimes put up specifically for newbies that can be an entire basic kit (brush, razor, blades, soap/cream). Great place to try out different products for often dirt cheap prices. 90% Castle Forbes Lime for $15, 100 blade packs for $10, very excellent condition brushes for 1/2 price...very very much worth it.

So I got neutrogena deep clean oil free face cleany stuff. I put it on and my face gets all tingly and almost burning but not painful, kind of like a cold burn? If that makes sense. Does that mean it's working or does that mean ohgodstopimdying?

yeah that's not a good reaction to a face care product. some might dry your face out a little and necessitate lotion but tingling/burning means it is irritating your skin

Not necessarily. Some products contain menthol/eucalyptus that creates that sensation normally. Best advice is just watch how your skin is in the next couple of days. If it changes in a way to be more dry or red or you get bumps, then it's irritating your skin and you should stop using it.

For us guys which it takes three days for hair to even be noticeable, a full beard would take the normal six weeks? Wouldn't know because I have to shave for fucking work.

That's racist. Us chinky people can have the same skin issue. Haha.

I used to use a 4 razor blade and now down to 2. It really makes a difference. I will be switching to a single blade eventually. For the people that are still having shaving issues.

Remember to use cold water after you shave to clear the excess cream. Try to avoid using the towel that you use to wipe your sack to dry your face (if you decide to shave in the shower). The cold water closes the pours. Also wash your pillow sheets often so your face doesn't oily.

When I was in my late teens my hair flaked like crazy no matter what I seemed to do. The only thing that sort of worked was a product called Bio Silk which is crazy expensive. When I moved to Florida at 27 the flaking pretty much ended. I moved back to Michigan three years ago and the only time I see flaking is during the dead of winter and it's not much at all. Possibly going through the Accutane regiment helped that too.

i find that shampooing/conditioning got rid of the flakey shit, so i make sure to do it daily, maybe 2 days apart at most.
