Eh I'm honestly not sure, while I want to feel "It's his personal life, which is none of our fucking business", a pretty blatant lack of basic personal integrity is maybe a red flag for someone to potentially head up one of the largest, most important cities in the world. If he has no problem fucking over someone he supposedly loves, why would anyone think he would have any qualms doing it to a bunch of constituents he doesn't even know personally?

I don't know the people in this election, since New York isn't the center of the universe, but speaking generally, I'd rather have someone who maybe doesn't care or understand about his own privacy on the internet or maybe makes a few bad calls in his personal life, but has good policy, than someone who does all the "correct" things and sells his policy to the highest bidder. Which is kinda where we're at right now in american politics.

In earlier decades, this same sort of drivel came in the form of "JFK is Catholic!" "Reagan is divorced!" as if it automatically made them bad presidents. Personal shit is personal. Ultimately, who fucking cares? Until and unless he commits a crime (or something that should be), not me.

The problem is that this isn't just about his personal life. It's a symptom of his overall approach to politics. He's notorious for not having accomplished anything in Congress other than giving good speeches that got him on cable news. There's a reason he had pretty much no support from his colleagues when the initial scandal happened and why he was pushed out so quickly when it was clear he wanted to stay and try to ride things out. How can the average New Yorker expect him to be able to get along with all the various local constituencies he'll have to work with when he couldn't even work together with other people in Congress to have something, anything to show for his time there? His campaign (so far) amounts to "trust me" when his record gives no reason to do so.

A large portion of voters care, and if they didn't then the news and talk shows they do care about only speak of this in a negative light. It's nothing but bad for him, and he should feel bad for literally being given a second chance in politics and throwing it away. My wife and I might not give two shits, but if my voters do then I'm keeping my dick in my pants until after my term is over.

In his defense...congress doesn't do jack shit anyways nowadays other then take time off and bicker and position to try to out maneuver the other party in the next election. There are many politicians who won't even go to congress due to how annoying it is for the people who want to get shit done...to actually get shit done.
