Frequent mouse/video/audio stuttering

Lately my PC has been doing this more and more, and I'm getting annoyed with it. For like half a second, my audio/video will stutter kinda like this


I have no idea whats causing this, but its getting more and more annoying. Could it be a cooling issue?

I updated LAN video and audio drivers, and it seems to have stopped the stuttering for now, or it could have just been the fresh reboot.

Its starting to happen again, and I've updated all my drivers...so that rules that out.

Do you use VLC to watch video?

Almost seems like your watching the crappy Windows Media Player

If that's a flash based video, I suggest this: Disable hardware acceleration in flash.

I wasn't assuming that was yours. If that's an example of what yours is doing I would hope the video you provided included the same type of software you were running when it happens. Without knowing exactly what applications are doing this we can't help you. It's like tilling a doctor you're in pain but not telling him where it hurts

Is this video streaming from an online source or being read off your hard drive?

If it's streaming what browser are you using?

If it's local what player are you using?

There is just a ton more information that is needed if you expect to get any kind of accurate help.

Theres no video playing

It happens more often I'm running 2 accts of FFXI (usually in high density areas) and run Media Player Classic - Home Cinema, with Chrome running in the background.

You're oversaturating the IOPS of your hard drive. Get an SSD.

Could just get another hd to put ffxi on, so it's not making your system drive busy all the time. Cheaper than an ssd to do it that way.

Im broke as broke can be, cant spare any money on hardware right now lol

Then deal with the stuttering. You can get a cheap 120gb SSD for ~100 and use it for just OS and FFXI and put everything else on a slave drive.
