I mostly wonder why people tolerate having these people friended on their Facebook. I don't, whether they're family or not. Whenever I have seen someone posting something idiotic like that, I've removed them.

(As such, the only times I get to bombard ignoramuses with facts is when they comment on my friends' statuses, as they choose to tolerate what I do not. That's always enjoyable.)

Oh good fuck I hate that one, I hate how fucking stupid people are. I really want to snopes everyone on my friend list but I'm pretty sure they'd still be just as retarded.

<3 Snopes but that can only go so far. I had to call someone out on some stupid repost of a science experiment that some kid did which wasn't done correctly leading to a false positive result. I explained to this friend that the same test was done many many times with the proper procedure and provided links with proof and she still believed the article and said that a friend did it as well with the same result (which was also done incorrectly). Some people will believe what they want to and hold onto that belief no matter how wrong they may be.

To me it just depends on the stupidity and the situation they comment on. For the above example, that friend is actually an ok person but is just very gullible so I have them hidden now since they repost stupid stories that go viral but are false.

There is also a video where someone took two clips from the same episode and edited it together.
They took the clip of peter driving through the runners and added audio from the bomb going off later in the episode along with the screams heard off camera during the explosion. Some people are sick...

Sometimes, I do wish that defamation laws actually had some ability to be used more often. I'd be willing to debate that the five requirements for the ol' common laws regarding defamation could be actually fulfilled by some of these people / groups. Particularly in more recent years with the ease of disseminating information that never goes away.

Fortunately the few people I know who do marathons regularly were not injured in the detonations. Sucks though, recalling EMT knowledge and seeing some of those injuries. The utter stupidity that follows any of these events just reinforces my already poor views on society at large however, with those that instigate the stupidity and those that just parrot it without the slightest question. Bah.
