Well, back to the suspicious package calls I guess.

Gas can w/wires sticking out of it reported at local hospital...... court house the media is at currently being evacuated, multiple bomb threats made.

The last working computer my station had ran on Windows 98. And that was about a year ago...

I built one for our volunteers that runs an i5 on windows 7 and rocks, so we pretty much all fight over that now when they aren't around. Unfortunately it's not mobile, so most of us do as little charting as possible until we're back in quarters.

God, how old are your toughbooks? Newest ones we have are all i5-i7's with 4gb ram and run faster then some of our report writing room desktops.

I feel like their the first toughbooks because they're essentially bricks and most of them don't even charge or hold a charge anymore. We are getting all this money for new, and stupid shit, but our supervisor completely ignores one of our most important pieces of equipment that needs upgrading. Had a chart the other day disappear into chart space, or chart heaven, or whatever you wanna call the 100feet between the truck and the router at the building that eats charts. Oh yeah, our only apparatus with on-board wifi is the chiefs vehicle which we're lucky to ever see in town since he drives it to his other job, so we have to upload back at quarters. Sucks.

God now I feel bad salvaging about 15 laptops that despite being about 7 years old, probably still run better then the crap you have. I know the feeling though, one of our duty stations blows it's IT budget on other shit, then complain when the 6+ year old computers break.

We are getting info from Firefighters in Texas of a major fertilizer plant fire and explosion that occurred in the town of West, which is 20 miles north of Waco, in McLennan County. We have been advised that West Firefighters were initially dispatched to the plant earlier in the evening after an earlier fire rekindled. The explosion was reported at around 1950 hours in an urgent radio call from the scene of the fire at West Fertilizer at 1471 Jerry Mashek Dr. just off Interstate 35. Residents 60+ miles away reported hearing the explosion.
Naturally, the concern is that the Firefighters were operating on the scene at the time of the explosion. Right now, reports are that several buildings are on fire, destroyed and a nearby nursing home was damaged. There are also reports that people were trapped in the nursing home as well as in an apartment building.

I tend to jump between all the news channels to see what they're saying, holy fuck fox has been painful the last few days.

Fox & Friends yesterday morning went on for like an hour+ about how the "person of interest" saudi national was actually a suspect and had been arrested and was definitely connected etc.

Hannity last night was painful even for Hannity, Cavuto yesterday had a guy that was actually being reasonable and so Cavuto was like freaking out trying to get him to say absolutely anything at all that didn't completely fly in the face of the Fox narrative (as pretty much every bit of legit info thus far does). The Five was even more disgusting than usual. One show had another guy on talking about how all these people are talking about how it reeks of "homegrown" terrorism, and trying to twist that into "al-quaeda's biggest goal now has been to recruit americans that can freely travel across the borders" etc.

They've pretty much stooped to a whole new level with this one.
