From what I can tell listening to police scanner was an officer was called in to check in on someone resembling suspects description trying to get a cab while wearing red backpack. Officer arrived saying he had the suspect in custody along with 2 additional males. The "suspect" in custody at the moment is just suspect another officer had called in about middle eastern male with backpack trying to get cab. Last I heard bomb squad was on the way as dispatch told officer to not check trunk. Since than haven't heard anything on scanner about it so might not be "suspect 2" or might be hence the trak search they seem to be doing. Excuse any misspellings typing from cell phone while listening to scanner app.

UPDATE: 6:00 AM EST

Despite reports from the police scanner that confirmed Tripathi was, in fact, the person who they believed to be the second suspect, NBC News reported that the missing Brown University student is not a suspect.

NBC's Pete Williams conflicting report:

"Authorities say these people came from overseas... had overseas military training [and have] been here about a year," NBC's Pete Williams — the most reliable source through a chaotic week in Boston — reported Friday, citing multiple sources.
