Btw if it wasn't known (I had never noticed it before) WKRs behave just like other reives, once the boss and everything else goes idle, trash won't aggro until the boss is aggroed.
Speaking of which I heard part of the problem was there wasn't enough tanks or something? The times I've gone I've usually kept hate off mages dual boxing until I die of doom. Though the cors and sometimes smn do love to temporarily take hate with spamming and pull it to the mages everytime which sometimes would kill my dual boxed whm lol

Not much difference between 0% colo and 30% if all the damage is going to be from quickdraw anyway. Really, all you need is a pld/healer pt with a geo in it, and 2 cor pts to take it down in 1-2 hrs. There is a world of difference between cors just doing QD on cd, and pts with 5-6 cors in them doing random deal rotations.

Yeah I was in a Yumcax party that downed it in like 1 hour with cors. I managed to make 25k just spamming Healing Ruby II.

Yeah, one Pld was autoexec raising in the hallway for hours, think someone GMed him or something, and another was on boss, but just never lasted very long. Think by the end a few more showed up.

Woke up too late to get past colonization reives. :/ Shitty there's no way to bypass them like Marjami.

What I love is just how close coordinate wise the cirdas entrance is to yumcax. If you could walk thru that one wall and jump up a little for 10 seconds you'd bypass the reives and save like 5+ minutes walking

The windowlicking paladins that insisted on tanking the boss inside the entrance hallway were the main problem...

I've now killed yumcax + hurkan a combined total of 13 times, and not gotten a single drop I could use. Just useless grip/cape, and ratk neck/bullet/GA I'll never equip. All the rest were no (repeat?) drops. I think I'm done.

I hate the drop system too; 12 kills (9 Hurkan, 3 Yumcax), and only useful-ish drop I've gotten is the grip (including zero drops on the last 6 kills). I just need either Hurkan's feet or Yumcax's hands to finish, since I can redeem the other one, but they don't want to give me anything other than the crap drops.

I don't mind yumcax as long as the dmg isn't retarded. I dual box tank it super easy. Only thing that ever kills me is doom. And I just get up and tank weakened

Especially since the common drops are useless (grip/cape) or of extremely narrow use (bullet/neck). I imagine it's intentional thou, since they didn't add any other real content this update. Gotta keep people grinding through a pure RNG shitfest for low chances of getting the JSE capes/naakul gears they need.

Hurkan isn't very fun on my server, only a minute fraction of the players that show up actually contribute to killing it. Most people bring their twilight dd/dnc and just fight trash mobs to cap bayld before than go afk, frequently pulling mobs and dying on top of the cors/smns/pups/weakened. I even see mages spacing themselves away from other players and pulling mobs on themselves, just to cure selfcure for bayld (or just using cure-cheat gear swaps) before they afk, four in the last kill alone. And the kills take forever; no one takes down the aura, and the ranged/pet jobs actually dealing damage to it are constantly being mpked.

that was not our first run, i killed it in 3 hours about a week or so back lol. Why that one took so long I have no clue. We had about 15 aegis plds and 230 people in the zone. I can not say if it was JP but the person who shouted and got me on my pld was speaking english just fine >.>. maybe that one was joint?

anyways the point is to keep us going to the events, whats the point if you kill it 3~4 times and call it a day. Everyone who needs stuff after a week would be shit out of luck. The system they have no is decent. All kills means you at least get that one item you must get, with a decent shot of getting something else. I got the hands/head so ya I can not say much really lucky ass I am.

The GA keeps me going back tho, as does the club.

I was questionning people too..."do you really have that much bayld and time on your hands that you can troll a WK reive for 3 hours"?

Lemme rephrase then. It was the first NA run (that I'm aware of) that was organized by NAs, and set to start at an NA time. Prior to that run, I've done it 5 times at varying times, and once since that run, but typically late night EST or early AM EST, all of them organized by JPs. As you said, they were rather prompt, ranging from 1.5-3 hoursish.

I can't agree regarding the drop system though. Some amount of RNG in things is fine, but when you dump hundreds of thousands of bayld, as well as hours out of your day, for spider webs and logs, there's something wrong. I agree though that if it wasn't this way, it'd die out in a shorter amount of time, but even with this system, it will still die out soon, its just a matter of if you spend 150k for your items, or 800k for them. But the exact same thing will happen, just as it did for the original set of WKRs. People will continue to pump their bayld into it until they get what they want, then they will no longer go.

So far, the entirety of Adoulin (with the exception of Delve boss farming) has been this way. Beyond the first month, Skirmish wasn't really run often, though Cirdas I is run as Bayld runs now (as well as runs for weapons to prep for Skirmish II), the original WKRs died out after the opening few weeks (though they picked up once all the slackers realized they needed the clears for a free item), even Delve KIs/plasm farming has all but died out. Sure, there's still a few shouts a day that last for hours looking for that last Brd or a Pld, but really, they're not particularly attended by many, because they've gotten what they need.

If a system of constant out dating of equipment is the path that will be taken for Adoulin (until it reaches a settled endgame state) then to have a system with such a luck aspect that someone who wants the gear can spend a couple hundred k bayld to get them, to nearly a million for the exact same items that very well may be out dated in a few months is pretty harsh. I was really wanting to horde bayld for August since we're getting 3 new coalition ranks (thus lots of shit to spend it on more than likely), yet now I've sunk 350k bayld into Yumcax for... a GA, a neck, a cape, and more worthless mats then an endgame event should ever reward. Its disheartening, but as an MMO, the pursuit of the best gear (even if only for a short time) doesn't end until you have it. Its just beyond aggravating when skewed luck is all that's holding you back. Add in terrible runs like that 11 hour one and yeah... who wants to go through more of this shit then they have to?

The biggest problem I see with the NA player base on Bahamut is that almost all of the old veterans are gone and were left with a majority of subpar players. Even when you do find a decent player a lot of times they have zero job flexibility. It makes it very difficult to assemble enough for events. The fact that 1 person in a zone doing something utterly stupid can wipe out another 100+ people also makes no sense.

The bulk of the competent, 'veteran' players on sylph are the people that game the system to cap bayld asap, than afk on the sides.

I was at that horror show. I skipped events that day just to finish and get the win. Got a gorget after 9 fucking hours. Wound up finding a jp Hurkan shout later that night and joined that for the win, was over in less than 2 hours, got a bullet I can't use either, then picked up my Tamaxchi from the npc.
