That's what's keeping me torn at the moment. Extra balyd for naakul spam or ranking up multiple coalitions is a pretty difficult trade off to decide.

I've heard it's possible to get like 30k bayld from the fight itself, so if it is eventually reduced quite a bit by the time there's rank 8 you might earn a lot of the remainder back just from that.

friend of mine got 43k just holding adds on PLD for 90% of the fight during tchaaka.

SE needs to adjust Bayld return in WK reives. You get fucking punished for actually contributing to the fight.

Melee's doing nothing but PULLING mobs (not even adds, just mobs that are too far out to even aggro) will get more bayld return than someone whos actually fighting the NM.

I fought Tchaaka on SMN and walked away with less than 10k total from the entire battle and teh SMNs there were the main dmg sources. I was there for 100-0. It's bs that an Ochain PLD can just sit there and cast Phalanx occasionally and be 40% towards his next KI.

no they can literally pull 5-6 mobs, tuck away in a corner, and easily hit quota every minute, for doing fuck all. They'll probably get more xp by cleaving, but you also run the risk a lot more TP moves coming your way. As long as you're getting an eval every min, you're maxing out whatevers possible.

Not sure if it was imprs or ranking up in the Pioneers to max but I'm max there and one ran up in the Scouts and finally got the discount

So finally got my 5th rank up in coalitions (disciple in 1 max in another) and still 100k. Haven't done all the quests though missed a couple. I do have capped fame though. Someone in ls says he only got 2 rank ups and has it at 95k

Yeah, I did the same on Colkhab and I got about the same (~10k). It's pretty bullshit. Achuka wasn't quite as bad (I think I got closer to 17k) since Leviathan has a useful Ward to spam.

So finally got price down to 95k. Happened right after I finished Orobon appetite for my last survival skill. Might be coincidenece it was that one thought or just finishing another quest. Done 35/42 now

Chocaliztli Boots and Mask for me and my alt off of Tchakka today.. pretty easy fight. Only thing of note is its AOE KO WS that kills everyone within about 20 yalms. It can be stunned, but it builds resist.

Took an hour and a half to take down. Easy to damage, BLMs, SMNs and CORs take it out well.

Just a note on Tchakka: MDT appears to help with the aoe KO move. We had an aegis pld show up and I don't recall him dying once to the move. Melees that got caught in hybrid or mdt sets survived at noticeably higher rates than those without. Also, if the move doesn't kill you, it does magic dmg instead.

Oh, that's interesting.. good to know! I believe our PLDs tanked with Ochain.

Perhaps it deals a set amount of magic damage and if that amount is over your current HP, you just get KO'd. Should be easy to test.

Perhaps, I think I was taking about 1k dmg with capped MDT. If it has it's MAB move up you can just about guarantee everyone but the aegis is going to die though. Our blm said it was dispellable, so it may be a way to keep everyone alive longer.
