So basically there are numerous businesses all over Arizona that are reducing all non board approved, employee's to part time employee's across the board, to avoid what they should be doing anyway. A lot of companies are going to figure out that this is a really bad idea.

Welcome to corporations using a handy excuse to do what they'd have done anyway, only with a nice smokescreen.

Long as there's more people than positions to fill them, they'll happily set it up in whatever method benefits them most. Until people aren't willing to work for peanuts, anyway.

On topic: the first post-election drivel I heard in relation to this was from Papa John's. Its been going on forever, but, aside from that one Republican idiot out west trying to tell his employees to basically vote for Romney or be fired, Papa John's had the first round of articles written about the post-election issue that I'd heard about. I know its extended all over the place since then.

Yup, my work started doing this a few weeks ago to try and see how to work it out come October. Since they started, our turnover has been even higher than normal, and we cannot staff the building while keeping everybody under 30 hours. We get bitched at because people "a, b, c, d" are over 30 hours, but a, b, c, d are the ONLY people that can work in the mornings. Morale has tanked, good employees are quitting or getting a 2nd job and making that one their priority.

So i found out that the custodians which are being hit the hardest at my job are all going to stage a complete sick day protest (Basically everyone calls in sick). There are a lot of custodians and one day without them is going to really show how much they are needed.

Basically they are getting 4 hour days 3 days max from 8 hour days 5 days max. They are not happy to say the least.

I think america could use more companies owned by the people who actually work in them. I don't know if they're also called cooperatives in the US.
