weighing in late but the neil-orpik hit was disrespectul/reckless but not against any rules:
Principle point of contact: head - No
Charging - No, feet on ground, didn't take a bunch of strides into him
Elbowing - No
Boarding - No, Orpik didn't shove him from behind in the numebrs
Neil was going into the boards either way and Orpik shoved him far enough way from the boards Neil hit the ice before the wall. Had Neil been 18-24 inches out and his face hit the wall before his stomach hit the ice boarding would have a stronger case, but Neil was so far out he went full prone along the ice before sliding in.
Rough yes, reckless yes, illegal no. But thats Orpik, think its been established hes going to go hard at all times and you better not put yourself in a bad spot versus him cause he will paste you (and suprisingly almost always legally - except for Eric Cole a half decade ago - considering how many highlight reel hits he has)
Truth be told, I found it ironic. Chris Neil doesn't deserve to play in the Stanley Cup playoffs cause he can't skate at the level almost every other NHL player is required to skate at. Now he won't be playing in the Stanley Cup playoffs cause he can't skate like an NHL player.
