Oh look who it is, didn't even pop his head in during the Penguins loss! Typical!
But no, now that your vacation is over, you can start lamenting at a sweep.
They just didn't want me to miss anything, even if I was watching at a sports bar miles away. Now that I'm back in town they'll turn it on. Word on the street is the best goalie in the world is being considered for his triumphant return to the pipes.
But seriously, that game would've gone so differently had the Bruins not weathered the first 10 minutes storm. Looked like it was gonna be a rout during the opening segment. And that refereeing was some of the most inconsistent work of the playoffs thus far, from how the two boarding calls were handled differently for each team, Brad Marchand not getting an interference call on the 2 on 0 breakaway when he turned sharp right to run into a backchecking Letang, and the Pens getting two penalties for subtle neutral zone interference and the Bruins getting none - every team interferes minorly to that extent dozens of times a game - if you're gonna ring up the Pens for it twice, they could've made the effort to at least ring the Bruins up for it once.
It is what it is. The officiating was ass. But the Pens had numerous opportunities to score but were unable to finish. I'm not expecting that to be the case tonight. I'm thinking they will be coming out with a pretty big chip on the shoulder.
So to those in the Ontario province...apparently the Shaw phone lines down. From Winnipeg to as far as Sault Ste. Marie from what I gathered. Work is going nuts right now cause most of our workers use Shaw.
Time to get lunch ready I guess lol.
fuck Shaw, have it in calgary for television...so garbage.
I think it's pretty unanimous among fans/hockey media that the officiating has been...abnormally bad; but I think at least every team has been more or less fucked over evenly.
It is a rough spot for the league, when you have guys like Walkom who are pretty much the best in the business blowing some pretty big calls that's a bad sign; but they've had 4 or 5 great veteran refs retire over the last 3 years and there doesn't really seem to be a huge pipeline of replacements since it's kind of a shitty job.
Oh people in Hamilton are affected too. Looks like the entire backbone system in down.
Most awards going to be the day editor game 2 of the SCF. The big ones (Hart, Vezina, etc) will be the day of Game 2
Vokoun first one off the ice. Looks like he will be starting tonight.
People are dumb. Vokoun has earned a bit more of the leash with how he's played.
If they drop game 2 and he looks shaky I would expect to see Fleury in net for game three.
