I'm not saying he would recreate how well he played when the Pens won the cup. I'm saying that this "should" be a big enough slap to the face that there's no way he could do worse than he did. I refuse to believe that a guy four years removed from winning a Stanley Cup has turned into Alex Auld.

Of the 16 goalies who played 4+ games in the 08-09 playoffs (when the Pens won), he ranked 10th in SV%. Of the 8 goalies who made it to the 2nd round, he ranked 7th. He’s just a bad goalie.

The only thing I thought he really brought to the table during that cup run was that he had the potential to steal a game. You knew there were going to be a few where he was just going to play balls-out and will his team to a win. Game 5 against Philly, and i guess 6&7 of the finals after the game 5 meltdown. Anyone feeling like MAF could steal a game this post-season? lulz.
