Clarkson will get 5-5.5 and it will be an overpayment because he won't put up similar numbers unless he gets fed the puck like he did in NJ.

I will be shocked if Elias gets under 5, I could easily see him getting 6. the UFA class is not good this year and even if he's old, he put up 114 points in his last 129 games. Dude is good and I remember you counting him out before he put up 78 in 81 last season. Basically you are hugely underrating him.

e: also the Wings AHL affiliate won game 2 of the Calder Cup finals tonight, putting them up 2-0 over the Syracuse Crunch.

Hes not worth 6mil.... period. You're hugely overrating what he will do. That drop off after age 35+ is massive and boy does it come quick.

Everything needs to be taken in relation to cap space too; what is 6 mil on a 64 mil cap is equivalent largely to what 7 was under the 70.5mil or w/e it was this past year. You're essentially offering him what Doughty or Rinne made this year by committing 10% of your team's cap space to him at 6mil. Do you think a 37 year old, turning 38 mid-season, Patrick Elias is on par with Drew Doughty, Pekka Rinne, etc in terms of what he will do for your team for that 10% share?

Crosby, Neal, Fleury, Beau Bennett, and Paul Martin.

Shero is usually pretty good when it comes to the dollar and cents issues. There's already a report out that Lemieux is going to end up forcing Shero to fire Bylsma. Which isn't really unexpected. Lemieux has always felt that coaches are interchangeable. If Bylsma does get the axe expect Fleury to follow.
