Like I already said, if the person is at the wall, it's the same exact distance; so no, it's not longer, if not faster since not everyone is going to be using powder boots.
Then you can buff while mob is inc. PLD just needs to grab it when it gets close to keep it off people.
You can buff before last NM die, and 2nd NM can be fought at the wall/can pop in the big room near the wall. running from A to B to A for 1st person is longer than running from A to B for 18. Specially if both NM pop in big room or the small room near the wall.
I don't see any logic in pulling the boss far, you're going to end up fighting in a tunnel regardless (unless you feel fighting it in an open space is worth having to deal with the odd regular mob), might as well be the one connecting to the boss room. Only exception for that could possibly be if both NMs pop right by the start, but still doesn't make sense to run it all the way back to the start.
Unless you clipper into the boss room ready to pull it when it pops you still have to run there then run back, waste of time.
It's more like B to A for one person and A to B for 18 as long as the one person is standing very close to bee in the first place. Pulling 2nd mob somewhere is just adding time as well. Time-wise, both ways should be very similar.
Basically the open space would be the benefit if you pulled it all the way to start.
Why would you need an open space for bee ?
Because your tanks suck so bad its constantly running over and AoEing everyone? Only reason I can think of.
Haven't done it so wouldn't know but I would say that maybe a mix of the two with someone pulling it closer to you and alli running to it might be the best solution if that's the case. Then again, time for bee hasn't been an issue for experienced groups so really whatever way works for your group.
When 1st wall goes down, THF or whoever flees to the boss wall, waits for wall to go down if it hasn't already, dying from aggro in the process, doesn't matter. They RA boss, flee, run back to start with the boss while the alliance buffs. I don't see how this is slower than waiting for 18 people all to move in the direction of the boss. You can just stand in the same place the entire run.
Regardless, it certainly works fine, because we had more than enough time to kill the boss when we did it accidentally. Doing it intentionally will be much faster.
Edit: Our PLDs also pulled both NMs near the hallway, though one of the NMs always pops in the big room (or at the very start) so you never have to wait for the pull. Then, once first NM is killed, you simply pull the 2nd NM off the PLD and kill while THF gets ready to grab bee.
Kurma observations. Seems to use Tortoise Song at set intervals.
Did five pops with a not-full alliance:
THF BLM BLM PUP -- --
MNK MNK WHM SCH BRD COR
MNK MNK WHM SCH BRD COR
COR dropped into 1st party for mage rolls
edit: nevermind. Sixth pop had 17 songs and timed out. lol
So it is necessary to bring magic dmg or Mura SAM for Mastop? We had 3 GEO, and people spamming debuff (dia, threnody, ele debuff, helix, steps) and its evasion was extremely high...
Echoing this; 2 MNKs with formless strikes works for magic damage as long as they seperate their use of them (Tried 1 at first, but it was much slower.) Should be like 10~12 min kills with 2 MNKs as your only magic damage with standard alli/bard swaps. More magic damage might speed that up more.
long as you don't stack one dmg type you'll be fine. Ie try killing him with a bee killer alliance of rangers lol.
We did use our bee killer alliance to gnat, but yeah the trick is different type of dmg + keep enf up so it doesn't do the most damaging/ plague tp move.
Oh I'm sorry, I was under the impression that this was a place for discussing potential strategies for the new content. God forbid people attempt to come up with a strategy that is more accessible to a wider variety of people, as opposed to, say a hardcore LS who can in 3 days level 6 rangers and gear them with R/M/E.
Your have swayed me with your arguments and your strategy now seems much better. Let's crucify all the new people who bother to post anything, and blindly circlejerk RNG strat to death. Talking about other options to open the fight up to more people is probably an awful idea anyways, wouldn't want those mats to drop below a few billion gil amirite?
RNG RNG RNG bla bla RNG was underpowered bla bla great we can stack 4-8 of them now bla bla if you can't R/M/E in a day you probably aren't hardcore enough for this game anyways RNG bla. Can I hang out with the cool kids now too?
Once again, thank you for being so welcoming!
You weren't presenting your side of things as, "My Linkshell doesn't have any/a lot of RNGs with R/M/E, so I'm working on a strategy that will serve us in the interim;" instead, it was "I don't understand why anyone does this thing that everyone says works so well, and I hate them for having their resources!". That isn't really going to get anyone to help you.
Actually, it's more along the lines of something I said not too long ago in this thread:Originally Posted by Thundarian
