A couple people have messaged me about the fight lagging so bad and TP moves being missed because of it. It seems to be because the boss room area has so many mobs the updates are overwhelming your client.

My group fights at these positions:

Red box: Tiers 1-3 fought, Turtle held at entrance and melees fight other mobs on side until its ready.

Brown Box: Tiers 4-5 + Boss are all fought here. We have a PLD constantly out scouting and pulling / holding away until we kill one. Also, once we're on T5, the PLD is at the Tojil door waiting for it to break. He pulls when we tell him too, once you get timing down its much better this way. Less moving, less adds. PLD can use Twilight / Powder boots / other things to get it back to camp if they are weakened.

If you are fighting near Tojils spawn and have lag issues I recommend giving this a shot.

Dead melee -> lower overall dps -> longer fight -> stun resist.
8 songs are 2 marches, 2 madrigals, 4 minuets. Geo spells are def/eva/mag eva down and mag acc up I think.

Suggested melee to bring are 4 MNKs (2 in each pt) at least for full-time mantra (in addition to FS 100 fists at start) during boss. DRK for boosted chaos and DRG for angon/spirit surge jump are good to bring along as well.
this we only failed to stun in both attempts lahar. once because of lag and 2. one because one of the 2 sch crashed. we should defintly get it doen soon. btw taru drgs are so fragile when lahar goes off :/

Using Mafai's map, we pull our Tojils to the little green culdesac on the eastern side. In 7 fights we've never had more than one or two mobs spawn during the fight there. But with 8 songs and 4 rolls, it melts when any one of the DD switch targets.

Melee fight in hallway with backs to walls if necessary, mages inside the circular area.

Ah yeah was wondering... wonder if you don't need the acc/had another way of maintaining hit rate if you could drop a brd and do march 3 min... on that note are the delve nms in the spreedsheet? And what's general tp/ws gear yours mnks are using along with the other pertinent buffs/debuffs for dps?

I have had success with bard's singing both Minne and Dex Etude instead of the second march. I think the best way to keep it simple is to not have bards (that could potentially be fail bard lolpug) change songs for boss, because competency and chemistry are seldom available when digging through the cesspool that is PUG Delve /shout responses.

We did a few runs of 1-5 in basalt with a few jp. When we got to kurma they were saying no songs no rolls. And to stun earth breath and let it aqua breath. Hard to figure out the translating sometimes but watching dmg, on aqua breath h2h went from 100dmg to 500per hit when we started stunning earth. We let earth go off, stunned aqua and h2h dmg dropped and slashing and piercing raised alot. The whole fight kurma never once did stomp to erase rolls songs since we had none. The 1 time it did was when a whm enter range to cure a mnk on the wrong side. Anyone else know about these breaths for this? And dmg was higher w/o rolls songs. Seemed like we spiked on dmg fast, like after 2min mnks were hitting 1k per hit.

I seem to recall Arthars pointing out Breaths did something to increase physical damage done many pages back. I also noticed last night hat my melee hits went from 100-500+ at some point, with Spiral easily doing 4-5k during that time, but it did Tortoise Song and dmg went back to crap.

Earth breath certainly increases piercing damage.

Is jp latency really that much better that they can selectively stun breaths? I find that ridiculously hard to believe, they go off instantly along with everything else kurma does besides tesuto on my connection and I'm able to dualbox stun tojil for the group I go with

Kurma moves can be stunned. We do fine outside stunning stuff but the lag inside Fracture is too much to stun consistently.

Didn't someone already post in this thread that they tried not using rolls/songs and it still did Tortoise Song?

Also, info will be forthcoming shortly on what happens when you get all 3 KIs. It's shark week~

Nubbi's saying in vent that 3 KIs gets you an Airlixir +1, not sure if trolling.

Finally took the shark down, we changed up our setup a little but the strategy I posted a couple of pages ago remained pretty much the same.
This setup was designed with the purpose of getting the win, not to farm 5 NM's + Boss. We used beads to lock the T1/T4/T5.
    - PLD stays on the Shark full time.
    - RNG's keep DD'ing throughout the entire fight, using decoy shot on the PLD.
    - When needed, have the 3 melee pull off of the shark and let the PLD hold it while COR's/BRD's rebuff/wildcard.
    - Have the SCH's nuke, and give the 3 melee Enthunder to take down the shields as quickly as possible.
    - GEO's used Eva Down and Def Down Luopans.
    - SCH's only stun Protolithic Puncture, Tidal Guillotine and Marine Mayhem.

    Setup was;
    RNG,RNG,RNG,BRD,GEO,COR
    DRK,WHM,MNK,DRG,BRD,COR
    PLD,WHM,SCH,SCH,SCH,GEO

    Spoiler: show

Edited out the Airlixer +1 reward since I was beaten to it

typical boto being dead in every fight

    grats on the kill!

least the nms outside aren't a pain in the ass to farm beads on to just get the win.

I just tried this strat on Kurma, setup was: #1:Mnk, mnk, mnk, dnc, whm, rdm, #2 mnk, mnk, drg, thf, whm, rdm, #3 pld, sam, sam, sch, blm, whm. Both attempts ended in the same result of 50% left at timeout. While the first attempt had a few earth breaths get through, the second only had one. Dia3 and angon were used. damage was garbage the entire fight both times. We did have tortoise song go off like crazy on the second fight, but we also had stretches of 2+ minutes in a row of the strategy being applied, but no dmg multipliers happened.....

No GEO means your dispels frequently resist. If you cannot dispel often, melee strats are lame.
