edit: if you're shooting for tp you're doing it wrong. @ buffy
Is there a link where the general idea behind this is fleshed out a bit more? I'm usually going to these as cor/rdm or cor/whm, but i'm not totally sure what /dnc would be focusing on. Is this standard melee DD, or is the intent to focus on damaging QDs for tp? I'd like to know more about this approach before deciding if it can work for me.

If you go /dnc you can samba for the other dds and keep up steps(this also lets the drg go /sam, since that's usually the one forced to go dnc). Melee for tp and use Last Stand for ws(or Requiescat on mobs where it's necessary). Downside to this is mage players that heavily rely on the cor to do haste cycles will have trouble to keep up all their roles by themselves...

Not sure why DRGs go /DNC, if they have Upukirex, they can parse in top 3 DD very easily in any of the delve areas except for NMs that need formless. Also with how powerful weapons are now, Box Step is such a waste of time.

*shrugs* My point is not to support drg/dnc, just cited it as it's a common strategy. Nothing more.

Nothing wrong w/ cor/rdm or cor/whm, it just adds far less utility than /dnc if your mages are otherwise competent. Cor/dnc has the upshot of haste samba and nice melee/ws gear options which makes for decent dps while using LS. Steps, while devalued, are still useful. If you also don't know how to coordinate dia2 light shots between people (idk) then /whm or /rdm is neat for getting dia3 potency w/o a rdm, but beyond that and -nas/erase /whm or /rdm has little to offer.

Hell, I don't even use last stand, I use exenterator when I'm not using requeefsquat.
But basically yeah, you act just like another DD. I always eat sushi, or pizza now-a-days, and just spam steps and exentor/requis. We normally only COR swap on megaboss, and our bards usually time things so we swap before they sing their songs. The Cors coordinate the starting two rolls (we do fighters+rogues for the monk party, and fighters+ misers/Sam depending) swap parties, and 2nd set of rolls is always hunters + chaos. I always save snake eyes for the 2nd set of rolls, unless it affords me the opportunity to get an 11 which then means no recast on busted rolls.

Swapping the whole run is fine, but we were successful early without doing so, so we never really started, and just stuck to swapping for boss.

Thanks, that's what I was trying to find out.

I find COR/SMN to be pretty useful. Can Hastega the entire DD party in one shot. Our LS has a few Yagrushs so the other Erases/Stonas are superfluous I guess.

I want to be appalled, but if you're not doing steps/sambas/damage, that isn't the worst idea I've ever heard. That's probably a decent solution for pickup groups or just groups with healers that are rough multitaskers

The issue lies in a stray DD being out of range and the whms and brds not picking it up because of that responsibility having been passed on.

It's not a terrible idea but I really fail to see any tangible benefit over hasting the three DD as /whm or /rdm, even when you ignore the status removal and cures.

If Haste is overwritten by Slowga or dispelled, it could also be a problem to reapply during some fights - wouldn't a level 49 Garuda be an easy one-shot by various NM TP moves? Eft comes to mind with Cyclotail and Geist Wall spam.

It isn't but some people make it out like it is. I was the running joke of one ls I dropped because I kept asking for haste because none of the mages in the entire ls ever hasted anyone without being told and even then you were likely to have it off more often then on even without slowga or dispel. So I could see where /smn would appeal to the uber lazy

We just assign each mages to watch/haste 1 DD. Atleast the "haste me" spam happens in tells.

Ok so a large group of us have been spamming bee to get win and we get to 20% ish and time out we seem to be hitting a wall when fighting it, i have been told having a rdm enblizz 1 us would help, but the set up we have is PT1 monk x2 blue whm cor brd PT2 mnk x3 whm cor brd. from 100%>75% we been using FS/HF 75%>25% go all out then the last 25 we FS/HF again but hit that DT wall. was just wondering if we should just go all out HF and all w/o FS till 25% have 1hr reset then FS/HF the last 25% any insight or advice?

    thanks^^

Well the eft dies in less than 3 minutes with our DDs and since we have Yagrushes, it's just convenient I guess. Also the CORs say it gives them more time to shoot for damage, which actually does add up to be decently considerable with those new bullets. Usually they do the Hastega before NMs are engaged and since there's only like 1 NM per zone that takes longer than 3 minutes, it's no problem to cast it before each fight and have it last.

It's just a suggestion, it may or may not work for you and your group but it's something to consider. There's more than one way to milk a cow. Also /DNC fails for DRG. I have to reemphasize that. Unless the DRG is wearing Karieyeh and a rank 2 Ophidian, he should be /SAMing it up. Even when I had Ophidian, I was still rocking 3-4k Stardivers on shit and WSing often.

Try MNK MNK BLU, MNK MNK DRG. Can replace one of the MNKs with a mura SAM or BLU. Requiescat is demolishing the NMs in Ceizak.
