I honestly don't think there is a gimmick for the end bosses. Or if there is, it isn't suddenly going to be easy mode. They are supposed to be the hardest thing in game and will remain the hardest even after their planned updates. If anything, I think SE would be more surprised if we had managed to kill one yet.
Has anyone tried skillchaining on the Chapuli to see if it would cause any decrease in the mobs attack boost/evasion bonus, locking it out of orthroterror or increasing how much damage it would take? I'd be glad to go out and test but all my friends are currently passed out and probably wouldn't be able to do that until around ~3pm my time /:
Does anyone know if the Ergon Tinctures would be worth using for these Delve bosses? I wouldn't be surprised if SE had designed this content with the buffs those offer, if the bonuses they grant are even substantial enough to warrant 18 ppl investing 40k balyd per Tincture.
So, I've made a PUG friendly strat for plasm farm in Morimar (or any zone, really). If you do your runs with a good group of people you know personally and everything goes smoothly (you're able to zerg raptor+eft NMs in 3min each for example before proceeding with fodder farm) etc, feel free to stop reading now.
One of the problems you might encounter when forming a PUG plasm group for pure fodder killing is, you are looking for 2 good PLDs that won't die to the NMs in 45min, and two equally good healers that won't run out of MP healing them. Sometimes it's too much to ask for if strangers join. You can simply replace those four people with one guy who can equip Twilight Armor and doesn't mind losing some XP. That person runs in, after zoning in, gathers NMs from the big room and goes to zombie them in some secluded spot. The exact point where you zone in Morimar works fine for that. Any NMs afterwards you aggro, just drag them to the zombie guy and pile them up on him. It doesn't matter if he holds one NM or five of them at that point. You gain 3 party slots from this (replace PLD+Healer+Healer with something useful) that can setup a kill on matamata at the start of the run (let's say the zombie party is PLD BRD COR WHM MNK MNK) or if your PUG is not able to execute even that much, simply just go in the tunnels and establish a third DD party to slay fodder right from the start.
My friend was yesterday spamming RR3 on Ochain PLD as fast as he could to see the max amount of xp you'd lose and it was 26.2k. If you wait bit and let the NMs to idle/start walking back before calling them in again, you'd cut that xp loss in half or even to quarter. One VW run or a round of Reives tops you back up after the runs.
Now, before any die hard tanks shout out in protest - I know you can comfortably hold all NMs at once, but to me, in pure PUG, just zombie-ing everything takes less work and coordination I have to ask from random people who join. I've joined too many runs that end up with NMs running loose everywhere.
So far the only confirmed location that you can use them is in a Wildkeeper's Reive, but I wouldn't be to shocked if you could use them in a Fracture to give yourself a slight upperhand, raise your accuracy and buff yourself for a very short duration, but is 30s even worth the cost? :/
I know I'm being optimistic here but is there any chance the tinctures get around the NM's quirks and benefit everyone in some way?
I think people misunderstood the main point I was trying to communicate - and happened to overlook the statement "won with about 30 seconds left, so setup was not ideal, but worked"
The point was simply that all blu spells seem to land on it. Any blu knows that heavy strike tends to miss on these new delve NMs with the high evasion, so the fact that it did not on this one was interesting.
If I had to do it again, would not use this setup. There were some prior comments of a 3 box win or near win - but no jobs/setup or strategy listed at first ... But that has been clarified now. Knowing what I know now, obviously would take a different mix of jobs: PLD + healers + MNK preferred or other melee.
I said in my very first post about attempting to 3 box it that I used MNK SCH BRD.
Thats not relevant to how terrible the alliance must have been to take 19.5mins to kill chapuli with 18 people.
did some turtle(kurma) and have some breakthrough findings with aid of some info from JP wiki
1. silence does not stop tortoise song
2. the stomp move does not seem to 1 shot anyone... so theres really no need to kite.... just fight him at pop area
3. Thf + SAM, and PLD + SAM can do unlimited SC for unlimited magic burst.
4. Each elemental damage dealt to it, will raise its MAGIC(edited) damage modifier.... in the sequence of 1 > 1.1 > 1.2 > 1.3 >>>>>> a cap prolly but hard to tell cap...
5. Enspell doesnt seem to boost modifier, but you can notice enspell damage goes up when u build up point 4.
6. Harden shell can raise the MAGIC modifier by possibly 1.0, and it stacks each time it uses a harden shell
7. even the aqua and earth breaths make him take more (specific type) melee damage, eg. aqua breathe boost slash and pierce damage mod(need confirmation)
8. every modifier is reset after a tortoise song. Tortoise song only remove roll and songs, and can be avoided by staying outside 20.1
we had 17 peeps on it, all mainly dual boxing but only have like 6 BLMs in total, managed to down it faster and faster once we know the trick of adding its modifier
i believe somoene also mention this before, but if your not MBing, basically just spam thunder tier 1 can also boost the modifier so your next ja/Vs can deal as much damage as possible
setup was PLD THF SAM SCH WHM BRD, BLM BLM BLM SCH BRD COR, BLM BLM BLM BRD SCH
tortoise song can still fuck you up on kill time but it doesnt seem to favour it. i would say shell and song is same % of execution.
downed in 10 mins on last attempt, spamming thunder tier 1s before MB time. Reached to a point where we doing 15k Jas before he decides to use tortoise song
song used were ballads and schezeo for blm pt, pld brd is 2 songs only, so just mainly sing marches non stop for melee to gain TP faster
wizard and warlock roll, and thunderstorm + klimaform
Yay! GJ homie!
Great info, should def be put into wiki. Arthas if your group needs a body hit me up. I'm pst.
thats some very great info!!! very much appreciated <3
So nukes and skillchains, but not enspells? you try formless strikes?
