Let me elaborate. Han, is a murderous drug smuggler. When Lucas had planned to release the prequels, he had to "clean up" the original trilogy in order to receive PG rating. Before this, the movie was PG-13. So putting Han in a defensive position rather than someone who would shoot someone in cold blood, seemed like the most logical step.

Harmy Despecialized Editions are the best; uses multiple video and audio sources to make the best "original" versions of the original trilogy.

One of those bits that threw me off as a kid was some of the storybooks actually had references to the cut scene where Biggs and Luke are talking on Tatooine.

With picture, no less. Then I saw the movie and re-read the book wondering what I'd missed. Of course, the scene on Yavin likely didn't make as much story-pushing sense without the first one, thus the original movie lacking both.

I prefer the music the remasters have at the end of RotJ rather than what was originally there.

That's the only personal positive I can think of, off the top of my head.

lol I saw Remember the Titans in a mostly black theatre and it was awesome. something immersive like sci-fi or horror, clapping gonna get annoying

The Mos Eisley and Jabba scenes did not need to be in there. Agreed.
In all honesty tho, some of the digital retouches are actually not bad. After watching the comparison video, I was like "Oh, that makes sense why they woould fix it." Also the framing is much wider, which is a nice touch.

I think the Jabba scene from ANH would have been better served if Jabba was completely removed and replaced with Boba Fett, maybe. Of course you would have limitations based on the original filming with Harrison Ford, but Jabba is better left unseen until Return of the Jedi, in my opinion.
