This. Someone edited the whole trilogy down to two hours and did a good job. That's the only way I'd bring someone up to speed now.

I'm still a fan of the Machete order; 4-5-2-3-6, 1 is intentionally left out.

Before I saw it for the first time I rewatched the Harmy OT with the wife and we enjoyed it like always. I haven't yet and do not plan on rewatching the prequels unless I'm bored and feeling masochistic.

Today, Disney and Lucasfilm announced that Star Wars: Episode VIII, originally scheduled for release in summer 2017, will now debut on December 15, 2017.

A Christmas release (tied in with all kinds of new merchandise) did extremely well for The Force Awakens, so this seems like a smart strategy.

Shit, I didn't know Avatar 2 was a thing. I'd imagine they'd move up or back Avatars release date with Star Wars being fresher in everyone's memory, VIII not being an obvious cash grab considering Avatar ended with no need for a sequel, and there's little to no publicity surrounding Avatar atm. As much money as Avatar II would make, I wouldn't risk putting it up against one of the most anticipated movies of our generation.

It's also been in the works for a long time so who knows if it will even make the date. But yes, Avatar 2, 3 and 4 are a thing.
