How does this movie get nominated for so few Oscars when its one of the highest grossing of all time? Then, of the very few it was actually nominated for, doesn't win any oscars....

I'm a little salty Mad Max didn't take visual effects, but I guess Ex Machina needed some kind of pity award since they decided to snub it everywhere else.

Actually in order to be considered for awards, the movie would have to submit a screener to the individuals voting for winners (which would mean massive pirated DVD copies all over the net). They decided not to but the weird thing is that they were still nominated for a couple categories. Anyways like it was already stated, it's not common for blockbuster movies like this to win anything so it doesn't matter.

The only blockbuster that comes to mind that was nominated for a lot of Oscars was LOTR: RotK...and I guess The Dark Knight?

I'm disappointed they didn't include a few more deleted scenes. There one where maz, solo, chewie, & Finn face off against the troopers in the basement wasn't included. I guess there is also an extended maz/Rey lightsaber scene.

Yeah and no audio commentaries. I think I recall there being a special edition release later in the year with more features?

Edit: actually just read the maz scene is featured on the digital release only. So have to redeem the digital code and watch it that way.
