Guys from the Raid got cast in the movie

Blank blank has learned that The Raid lead Iko Uwais, Yayan Ruhian (aka, "Mad Dog/Prakoso" in the film) and Cecep Arif Rahman ("The Assassin" who fought in the kitchen finale of The Raid 2) all will be in the film

apparently they're bringing few actors from The Raid/The Raid 2 in for Star Wars VII for stunts. Hopefully it's not too martial artsy.

admittedly bloated but every big fight in The Raid + Raid 2 is better than any duel in any Star Wars, what's the worry

Do they go back to that samurai style duel like A New Hope between Vader and Obi Wan?

The fast paced prequel trilogy style? I like the ROTJ fight between Luke and Vader the most, especially when Luke loses his shit

I think the samurai style is more intense/suspenseful. Where as the faster paced has more overall potential.

I think both have their merits so I'd like to see both, based on which characters are fighting. Luke is old, so I would imagine his style will be the slower samurai style like in the OT (plus he learned fighting Vader and Vader was limited by his suit), but that sith guy seems pretty energetic so he'd be fast.

Agreed. I wasn't a huge fan of the Obi/Vader duel but understood why it was such a slow paced fight giving the characters. On the other hand Luke and Vader were great fights. Though my personal favorite was probably Maul/Obi/Qui Jon.

I think that was probably the best fight that wasn't completely over done and over the top with jumps and what not.

I distinctly remember watching Attack of the Clones in the theater and when Yoda started going through his flipping floppity lightsaber fight with Dooku, the entire theater erupting in laughter at the absurdity of it.

My theatre had the opposite reaction. Every single person was like "now we see why everyone thinks Yoda is a badass with a lightsaber."

Except wasn't Yoda supposed to be a master of the force, not necessarily of lightsabers?

I never read the books, but in the movie at least Obi says to Anakin that "if you practiced your light saber training as much, you'd be as good as master Yoda." So it's implied he's the master at light saber battles.

Also, from what I've been told from the books, the light saber battles are just as much of a force battle as physical battle (fighting in the person's mind and throwing force behind your swings), so it would follow that the best Force user (Yoda) would be the best saber user.
