Revan was pretty dull looking too, which makes sense because it's a proxy by design. It's better for it not to deviate too far from baseline look in universe.

Malak on the other hand was the real villain and had a well defined 'helmetless Vader' look that gave him both character and borrowed menace, plus the jaw reveal to make him even more threatening. It's not a coincidence that he was the big bad on the box art, not vanilla Revan. Darth Nihilus also had uniqueness befitting a primary antagonist with that compelling mask/hood structure, in addition to the numerous folds in the clothing that play with the light/shadow of the lightsaber.

This doesn't have any of those flourishes, isn't emotive, and lacks even a functional touch like Revan's armor. The only thing that keeps it from being a background npc design is that ridiculous lightsaber that he looks inches away from stabbing himself with in both pictures.

I'm still onboard the hype train, just really hoping there's more to the character than that weak design.
