Bringing "balance" to the Force is not necessarily wiping out Sith. How is it a balance when one side doesn't exist. The prophecy probably implied the stop to the overwhelming tide of the Dark Side that was sweeping the Galaxy. Jedi Order is gone, with the exception of 2 known Light Side Force users. Sith Order dismantled, by cutting of the head, Emperor and Vader. Doesn't mean there are Dark Side (Sith) practitioners left. This does not imply that either side of the Force has stopped existing. Hence the sequels.

P.S. Weren't Night Sisters a Dark Side users too?

I enjoy Star Wars for what it is. Getting lost in the lore is fun and all but means a whole lotta nothing if it sucks the fun out of everything. It's not like SW galaxy is the only IP with rampant inconsistencies. It has been mismanaged for a long time and it isn't gonna get "fixed" but rather ignored. Chillax and enjoy your december release already.

George started it afaik. Then a hbunch of people added a whole bunch of shit. Then Disney bought it all and decided only certain things are canon now. Since Disney owns it and are the ones making new movies, they get to decide.

Yes, `getting lost` (AKA `paying attention`) to the `lore`(AKA the movie dialogue) is a distraction from having fun watching the movie. `Just enjoy it for what it is.` The actual movie-plot is a huge distraction to the movie. It's best not to get bogged down in things main characters say during dramatic moments. Instead just watch it like a drooling retard, check out the special affects, and enjoy your december release already.

Disney put together a canon-committee after purchasing Star Wars because the EU was a mess and they would conflict with future projects (and conflicted with past ones). A few months later everything was deemed non-canon outside the films and The Clone Wars series. (and future shit Disney does)

Not quite correct. The Lucas Story Group are the ones who make the decisions on story approvals going forward.

As for what is canon as of right now it's the six movies, Star Wars Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, the del rey novels Tarkin, A New Dawn, Heir to the Jedi, and Lords of the Sith, along with any future novels that are released as well as all the current Marvel comic titles and all those going forward.

Oh and the future video games are expected to be primarily canon. All those projects have to be reviewed by the Lucas Story group before they are approved to go forward as they are the ones responsible for trying to keep the Star Wars lore more streamlined this time around.
