He wouldn't be far off, given the EU stuff. Cade Skywalker was able to revive at least two recently deceased people, and in the EU the Emperor successfully body-jumped to multiple clones after "dying".

The Sith were secretive and passed all of their secret knowledge of the Dark Side down through a precise lineage of Master and Apprentice. If the Master and Apprentice die at the same time, without being able to train a next generation, all the secrets of their thousand year lineage vanish and should be lost to time.

A new "Sith Lord" in EP7 will vomit all over the Anakin Skywalker arch. I don't know why this is so hard, unless there is the `official how to be a Sith library` on some planet in Star Wars canon that I missed somewhere.

The Sith traditions stashed lore all over the place like some kind of evil squirrel cult. Korriban is littered with so many Dark Side spots and ancient tombs that given enough anger, hate, and blood you'll likely wake up some old Force ghost nobody really should- and then learn something you shouldn't if you've got the potential. Or be devoured. That too.

Sith, the race rapidly were bred out of existence, though it's quite likely that a human gifted in the Dark Side might have a few drops of the old race mixed in with the rest- after all, they ended up interbreeding with humans and we get around.

The problem the Jedi have had is that because of the Sith traditions of hiding their knowhow/Dark Side spots being revived by ambitious dabblers where it can corrupt another generation, you really do end up with powerful Dark Side users popping up over and over again.

I really hope they keep the Sith race as canon. Red skin, squid like tentacles, weird facial spikes... just a cool looking race all together. Throw in the Massassi warriors too.

introducing a new cast of characters and new overarching story elements is a pretty big shift, I could see why they would call it 'rebooting' although they're wrong. it's a new start (anustart), but not starting over.

To be fair, "reboot" has never really been the correct term. When you reboot your computer, you're losing everything in RAM, but your entire computer isn't reinitialized.

The series has been dormant for years, now we're turning it back on again.

Honestly I know it's Vanity Fair but this just seems like looking for reasons to take shots. But...I suppose that is what the Internet is for.
