I doubt the nanomachines were smart enough to evolve the shit we saw in the first episode plus the changes caused funtional immortality. Even if some have devolved into mere weapons/infantry the head honchos can easily be alive.

I cant say with 100% certainty but Ika Musume there was probably the same individual from the videotape since the hideauz afterwards should have evolved into newer models. Plus there's the fact that she somewhat recognized the mech as being human without any apparent malice or fear like a person that had never seen anything like that before might react

Timeline is now something like the following?
Ice age starts
Evolvers make their SCIENCE Citadel and declare they dont care about petty things like the law.
Blah blah low level protests. unimportant
Info gets out about how they recruit which causes a huge backlash.(I've seen theories about kidnapping here)
More protests since something about that pissed off alot of people.
Information about the current progress of the experiments gets out and is specifically labeled by the fairly nuetral news agency as "horrendous" or some other synonym.
It also becomes clear at this point that children are being converted(experimented on?) which presumably is the final straw.
UN is still useless in the future.
Continental Alliance says fuck this useless UN shit and starts attacking since the Labratory but it's well defended by the other half of the word.
Since the protestors seem to be made up of the 1st world countries at a glance(people figured out what languages the signs were in) assuming much doesn't change.(The middle east has run out of oil so it's back to 3rd world by now)
it's possible that all the places too poor to GTFO to space sided with the Evolvers so that they could use the more easily acessible escape via breedable squidsuits plan.
Since the CA doesn't appear to be going with the nuke the lab option (possible they wanted any non squid technology development to not be fucked up since it could be useful to everyone)
War turns to a proxy one in space.

CA makes a stargate to GTFO and let the evolvers do whatever the hell they want with a plan to blow the gate so that the war cant follow them.
(Evolvers were just gonna drift in space a long time and probably could have survived the ice age anyway since space has to be alot harder to adapt to vs putting on a sweater)
Squids think a stargate is a great idea and decide to try and steal it to take over the universe. They're also pretty pissed that the CA and accuse them of stranding them on earth but really. they already could survive in space while traveling according to their own plan, had Mars right there, could survive the ice age on Earth, could just take a thousand year nap in orbit so it looks like just an excuse to me.
They follow the AC into space to kill everyone for daring to leave.

Also the "blossom sail" weapon that does the purple lightning looking attack looks almost similar to the green lightning done by the bugs/nanomachines? that the earth hidiaz ... uhh give off or whatever.

The "history video" showed a short scene where other things besides humans are hideazu'ed, like a horse? and some other things, so it may jsut be a small crew of humans, rest are animals. Whatever the hideauz tentacle rape monster form is, its a symbiant thats used and... attached? to life forms, so I'd think in a way some are sentiant, while others jsut act on instant... as the animals they are

I wouldnt say they are human anymore, thats the point chamber was making, the Hideaz have forsaken what it is to be human in the first place, yes they share common beginnings but are no longer human.

I like how the plot of this show has turned. I enjoyed Chambers' explanation on how humanity in the Hideazu has been lost for the sake of an "existence" evolution, which differs from mankinds natural progression in societal and technological evolution and the end result is conflict. The two type of beings can't coexist by their sheer presence alone.

The lead in to the next episode is alluding that there is a separate faction that seeks out in killing whalesquids.... how would Chambers not detect its operation? I hope they explain this properly

Everyone that stayed on Gargantia started out at full retard, Pinion has been going full retard this whole episode, Ledo spent the whole episode being a bitch and playing like he was Shinji. Chamber was dropping truth bombs and the only one that understand what it truly means to be human, what ironing coming from a robot AI.

I'd be surprised that their units don't already provide them with nourishment and life support. Honestly this hadn't crossed my mind since they've already shown how advanced Machine Caliburs are.

My thoughts on the direction of the show are basically: Striker/Kugel want to make Earth the NEW Galactic Alliance and subjugate everyone on the planet to similar treatment that Ledo got. Obviously since they're going to Gargantia, Amy's brother is in jeopardy since Ledo already told him how he would have been eliminated for being such a weak, useless pussy. So Ledo at some point realises this (and probably values the way of life they have/wants to protect it etc, probably some bullshit with Amy too) and tries to save Gargantia somehow.

I hope Tymon's spoilers end up being true, except the last one, cause FFFUUUU--

Ledo was in cryonic sleep inside Chamber for a pretty decent amount of time, and he said after Kugel revealed he hadn't left the cockpit "maybe I shouldn't have left the cockpit either"
