I have a feeling that Kate has more going on than meets the eye. This is just pure speculation, but I believe that she was the one selling secrets to the Chinese and Russians and she pinned it on her husband. This would give her a connection with the Russians who want Jack and maybe towards the end of the series after the threat of the drone attacks is settled, she turns on him in order to deliver him to the Russians for what happened during S8.

That paper signed by Mark is still around right? I guess that whole conversation Heller had with Jack about not being able to hide him from the Russians was put there on purpose to remind us all that there's a paper presumably signed by the president that hands Jack over to the Russians....
I fully expect Mark to play that card sooner rather than later lol. If there's a mole this season, it's probably him.

there not being a mole this season. Came a bit out of left field but I knew something was up when dude was looking around in the partitions and found something missing. So now we have a cover up and an unknown person on the other end of the call. It would be amazing if it was Tony Almeda

Speculation here but he might not be a mole for the terrorists, may have been a case of him sabotaging Yvonne so he could take her job. As for who was on the other line, despite having voice distortion, it kinda sounded like that older dude Chloe had been working with.

A lot of us were, but after what happened last Season with President Hassan I knew that sometimes they just don't make it in time.

The way the episode is directed leaves it open to that possibility.
At the last minute, Chlose says she's found some shit she can hack into. Then, we see nothing regarding Jack and the President for a few minutes until the Al-Harazis arrive.
After that, all we see is a video of him on the drone screen. When the missile is fired we don't see Jack's reaction (which I'd seriously expect), we don't get a shot of the President watching his imminent doom, and most importantly, no silent clock.

Did Chloe and Jack possibly cook up a last minute plan to hack into the drones video feed and stage his death?
These could be ruses to make the viewer think that of course, but who knows, I find the way the episode was directed odd.

It's possible they somehow staged it, like you said the death wasn't edited in a way that allows for an emotional impact. At first I thought the part Chloe could hack into was the Weapons System, but after thinking a bit she could have hacked into the video stream and looped the few seconds they have of Heller on video while Jack ran him off the field. Or put some sort of delay in the signal transfer so what they saw was actually 1-2 minutes behind real time.
