Look SE, we get it. Accept yourself and move forward through diversification but quit trying to uproot the core genre that holds the company together. You do JRPGs like Nippon Ichi does wacky SJRPGs.

The "cool kids" aren't going to enjoy your storytelling, your music, your artistic backdrops or your emphasis on philosophical themes and that's fine because it was social rejects that put you where you are today, willing to snap up those titles while everyone else was playing Street Fighter and playing Madden. The gross incompetence and the shitty marketing of titles (thus showing no faith in them) is pathetic and what has resulted is a subpar EA wannabe hemorrhaging fans and becoming a laughingstock for how many wrong things a company can do.

If FFXIV: ARR doesn't do extraordinarily well, more heads will roll. Lets see how long it takes for it to go FTP....

They're still churning out those shitty Pugella Magi looking JRPGs with loli main characters that seem to sell constantly. If that's the only market that sells JRPGs, then just kill the goddamn genre, but I refuse to believe that people wouldn't buy a new FFT. I literally bought 5 copies of the original.

I keep waiting for them to do a HD PS3 remake of FFVII. Pretty sure it could singlehandedly save the company, but they'll never do it so whatever XD

Yeah I myself wouldn't be as stoked about a FFVII remake as all the fanboys, but all the fanboys are what would help save the company if only they'd cater to them better >_> Cause there are a lot of those still around. (personally would want a XII remake myself but it's not as popular a game and wouldn't do that well I bet)

I doubt there's enough FF7 fanboys for a single game remake to 'save' the company, particularly one such as FF7 that'd be a huge investment to undertake for that game's scale with modern production expectations. This is a longterm problem they need to fix. Their unrealistic sales expectations on both Tomb Raider/Hitman sales didn't help either.

On the flipside, I hope they don't do something stupid like making FFXI F2P for a short burst of income.

Yeah, if I wanted a rehash of anything in the series, it would be this. Just give us an HD repackaging of IZJS in English with trophy support, I'd happily pay $60 for that.

Hell, I'd buy FF12 if all they did was put trophies on it and gave us the International version. Don;t even have to bother with the HD. And even if they didn;t add trophies I'd still buy it.

FF 5, 6, and 7 PS4/XboxWhatever remakes would make an intense amount of $. Eventually, they will do it just based off of demand alone. I think they haven't so far because of limited human resources already being devoted to projects years out.

If they're going to remake FFIV, don't make it sprite-based. Sick of them botching Kain's sprite in every remake, and yes, the original is best. Perfect, even. Stop changing his eyes from red to whatever - red eyes were badass.

I doubt we're ever going to see a current gen remake of any FF that isn't 7, and even that's not a high chance. That's especially not feasible right now with the state of the company. The development costs are just too high for a game everyone has already played.

A large majority of people who played 7 would buy it again as a remake; a large majority of people who got into Final Fantasy post FF7 and never got to play it would buy it. A whole lot of people would buy it who never played a Final Fantasy based on hype and buzz alone.

It would do WELL.

It would cost less than FF 15 or FF 16, which will happen.

I'd buy it for many reasons, but my main reason would be to hear a remake of the sountrack, which was absolutely excellent.

They could let XI got F2P but keep an optional w/ benefits P2P service. There is a lot they could offer up for a P2P service;
Remove AH Fee
Half price all items purchased from NPC.

Lock out timer on all events are halved; 10hr Einherjar, 12hr Dyna|Limbus|Salvage.
Double the tags available from the Salvage NPC - 6(7) if not captain, 8(9) if captain.
KI that grants unlimited Kupofried Conundrum / Voidstones.
KI that grants unlimited time in all Abyssea zones.
