Deep Silver reveals DLC plans and confirms Season Pass for Metro: Last LightDeep Silver today announced that 4A Games will be supporting the critically acclaimed Metro: Last Light with a series of original single player content packs throughout the summer.
• The ‘Faction Pack’ and the ‘Chronicles Pack’ will include new, original single player gameplay that expands on the Metro: Last Light universe and story
• The ‘Tower Pack’ will present a unique solo challenge to Metro veterans
• Meanwhile, the ‘Developer Pack’ will give creative players some interesting tools with which to explore the world of Metro…
“Artyom’s story may have been concluded in Metro: Last Light, but there are other characters with stories to tell, some familiar locations that fans of the Metro series wanted to revisit, and some new challenges that 4A wanted to explore,” said Andrew Prokhorov, Creative Director at 4A Games. “Since completing the game we have been working on these new stories and hope to release them throughout the summer.”
The Metro: Last Light Season pass is available to download now from Xbox Live, PlayStation Network and Steam for $14.99 / £11.99 / €14.99 or 1200 MSP now.
The first chapter will be the ‘Faction Pack’, set for release in June 2013.

The Season Pass also grants an additional weapon, the deadly Abzats, a semi-automatic shotgun rifle with a devastating secondary fire mode that unleashes six shells in one blast.
PlayStation Plus subscribers are entitled to an additional 25% discount on the Season Pass between May 21st and June 4th in the US and May 22nd and June 5th In Europe and the rest of the world.
Metro: Last Light is available now for PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, and Windows PC and has been critically acclaimed by the gaming media.
Amazingly enough Metro 2033 is going for more used than Last Light is. What's that all about?

Finished the first bit of DLC that came out yesterday. Playing as the Nazi was really dull, you pretty much just held R1 until you ran out of things to shoot at.
The next character was neat though. You searched a giant library (including its sewer system) for things that your boss deemed valuable. You'd go as far as you were able to (since no air filters are find-able and you have to purchase them from your home base before heading out), collecting whatever you could and shooting whatever nasties attacked you. Then you can buy weapons/equipment/armor/filters with the currency you earn for the things you collected. And you pretty much just explore more and more, unlocking shortcuts as you go until you find everything.
The last bit is a sniper mission. Not much to say about it, you have to be stealthy otherwise you'll get a restart if an alarm's triggered. It was maybe 20-25 minutes long and not really challenging. You had to shoot in a certain order to make sure some other guard didn't see the guy you just killed keel over.
http://enterthemetro.com/Deep Silver and 4A Games today released the ‘Chronicles Pack’ for Metro: Last Light. This final piece of add-on content is rolling out worldwide on Steam, the Xbox Live online entertainment network from Microsoft and the PlayStation Network from today.
Featuring three original solo missions, the Chronicles Pack invites players to step into the shoes of some of Metro: Last Light’s enduring characters in gripping plotlines that run parallel to the story of the main game’s protagonist Artyom.
“We hope fans of Metro: Last Light have enjoyed the additional content,” said Andrew Prokhorov, Creative Director at 4A Games. “It has allowed us to experiment with some new gameplay ideas such as the ‘Ranger’ mission from the Faction Pack and the Tower Pack, and we have paid close attention to all the feedback. But we think the Chronicles Pack will be the fans’ favourite as it contains three unique story-based missions featuring some of the game’s best-loved characters.”
Discover how Anna, the unflinching Polis Sniper, tried and failed to rescue Artyom from the Reich forces in the ruined botanical gardens. Put the irrepressible Pavel’s deadly skills and ingenuity to the test as he attempts to escape the Bandit Lair beneath Venice. And guide Khan and Ulman through the forgotten, haunted tunnels of Polyanka in a chilling supernatural tale that reveals a dark secret from Khan’s mysterious past …
The Chronicles Pack also features the Multi Barreled Bicycle Shotgun – the extraordinary fan designed weapon that 4A Games discovered online and, after seeking out the creator (Alexandre Bannwarth, a 1st year design student from New Zealand), re-created in-game.
The last of Metro’s planned add-on content, the Chronicles Pack costs just $4.99 / £3.99 / €4.99 and is also included in the Metro: Last Light Season Pass, which at $14.99 / £11.99 / €14.99 for the Faction, Tower, Developer and Chronicles Packs, offers a discount over buying the DLC separately, and also includes an additional exclusive weapon, the Abzats.
For more information on the Chronicles Pack, and the remarkable story about how 4A Games took the Multi Barreled Bicycle Shotgun from fan-design to in-game reality, head over to EnterTheMetro.com for the final entry in 4A Games’ series of Developer DLC blog posts.

http://i58.tinypic.com/2la9fya.jpgRumor | 30.03.2014 (10:39 hours): One of our exclusive user reports that in July it plans to launch Metro Redux for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One . It is a comprehensive collection of Metro 2033, Metro Last Light and its downloadable content available with major graphical improvements especially for the console versions.
There are still no official confirmation from publisher Deep Silver and developer 4A Games, but given the success of the game and the technical limitations of the console versions of the older generation is not a possibility to be excluded altogether.

Metro Redux. You may have heard of it... even though you probably shouldn't have!
We could issue a 'We do not comment on rumour and speculation' statement and pretend this never happened. They're pretty boring to read. They're also pretty boring to write.
So we're going to comment on rumour and speculation instead.
Is Metro Redux real?
Yes. We never made any secret of 4A's desire to bring Metro to the latest generation of console hardware.
But what you saw leaked was taken from an old, internal planning presentation, containing some nuggets of truth but a lot of hypothetical ideas and place holder material.
(Eagle eyed fans will recognize the artwork on the 'packshot' as the art from the original Russian edition of the Metro 2033 novel. And that 'logo' is just the old Metro 2033 logo with the '2033' scrubbed out and 'Redux' added... )
As you can see, we're not quite ready to reveal 4A Games' first next-gen console project, but we will be making an announcement this side of E3.
And we think the reality is a lot more exciting than the out-dated material that got leaked shows, and we're itching to share it with you. Just not yet.
Developer 4A Games is re-releasing its two Metro games — 2010's Metro 2033 and last year's Metro: Last Light — and bundling them into a single package: a "true director's cut" of those titles called Metro Redux.
Created in-house at the Ukrainian studio by some 80 people over the course of a year, Metro Redux for Linux, Mac, PlayStation 4, SteamOS, Windows PC and Xbox One will be a "complete remaster," according to publisher Deep Silver.
The original Metro 2033 has been rebuilt in the engine developed for its sequel, Last Light, according to Deep Silver brand manager Huw Beynon, bringing with it a host of improvements that affect its visuals and gameplay.
Metro 2033 is getting an all-new lighting engine and performs better on lower end PC hardware, Beynon said. It will also borrow a few gameplay elements from Last Light, adding the option to wipe your character's mask clean of condensation or blood splatter, as well as introduce new combat improvements — like stealth takedowns — and weapon customization. 2033's cinematics have been redone and are now presented in first-person perspective.
With the added horsepower and memory of new-generation consoles, Metro 2033 is also getting more level detail in Redux. The game will feature day and night cycles, and levels will boast greater visual fidelity. Some have even been expanded or connected; the "Dead City" section in Metro 2033, which was originally spread across two levels, will be a single level in the remaster.
Based on the gameplay demo of Metro 2033 Redux that we saw, the game generally looks brighter, exposing more detail in each level but "without losing that soulful, mournful edge that the fans really liked," Beynon said. "[4A] has put a huge focus on lighting."
The Redux version of Metro: Last Light is also getting a graphical facelift — though it's less extreme — and a handful of new gameplay improvements. Players will be able to check their watch and inventory, two fan-requested features. The Redux package will also include all of Last Light's downloadable content.
Each title can be played in one of two difficulty modes: Survival or Spartan. Survival is modeled after Metro 2033, having more limited supplies and ammunition, slower reload speeds and tougher enemy AI. Spartan makes the games more action-oriented and gives players more resources, in the style of Metro: Last Light.
Both titles will also support Ranger Mode, the option that strips out Metro's HUD and enforces "hardcore rules."
The two Metro titles will be sold individually as downloads for $24.99 each, and Deep Silver will release them bundled on disc for $49.99. Expect the PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One versions to hit this summer, with dedicated Linux, Mac and SteamOS versions to follow in the coming months.
Beynon said the console versions are expected to run at 60 frames per second. The PS4 version will run at 1080p resolution, with the Xbox One running at 900p.
I just grabbed Last Light complete for $5 and am excited to start this series. I hope my 770 2gb is enough to get the most out of it graphic wise.
I've always wondered just how much dough the authors of this, Witcher, etc make. Redux looks fantastic.
