I played kind of sloppy, but worth it for the HPB kills.

Does anyone have experience with eightarcs? We're in the process of buying a house and my wife will fucking kill me if I buy a Madcatz TE, but eightarc's basic model is 80 bucks. I've never used Qanba stuff tho.
Also, are there any chars similar to Dizzy? She was my main in GGXX.
Eightarcs and Qanbas are generally good sticks, the parts are all quality. If you're going to get one you should get a Fusion or Q4 though; they're harder to dual mod on their single-console versions and their dual versions are cheaper than getting a MadCatz stick and then modding it.
Eightarcs are just slightly modified Qanbas as well, same guts with different cases pretty much.
Ramlethal is maybe the closest to Dizzy, but still a wildly different character. All of the new characters have fairly different fighting styles, and most of the old cast is fundamentally the same.
And +1 on Qanbas. I don't play stick anymore but a dual console Qanba was my go to for quite awhile.
I tested it over the weekend, it seemed like you needed all the directions, though you could have excess ones, and 6+button had to be same frame. Perfectly clean 632146 with H a frame late got no super.
There may be a buffer so you can hit button early and hold it.
I'm using Xiii as the recent example, but compared to SF KoF is much much tighter on inputs.
SF (and especially 4) and Capcom games in general are kinda the definition of loose inputs. Fuckups in SF are the wrong move coming out more often then not, whereas most other fighting games are usually missed inputs or timing.
In regards to Hcbf inputs, I actually paid attention to myself in training mode and more often then not I'm doing hcbhcf as my input on those moves. Course I'm playing on a pad so that's a fairly small range of motion for that input compared to a stick.
Hey Xerlic, I'm looking to sell my Q4RAF stick since I preordered the xrd TE2. PM me if you're interested!
lol just ran into Wolfkrone in the main Boston lobby. He is fucking awful at this game.
Edit also from the first few days of this game, FUCK FAUST.
According to Neogaf you can buy the retail NA version at gamestop stores now:

And here I am sitting at work unable to confirm for myself for another hour or two.
Glad I checked this thread before leaving work, gonna see if I can snag it on the way home!
My local anime scene, including a guy I work with who has won a few majors in GG, all hate this game. The guy I work with is like, literally, depressed and been calling off work. I haven't read too much about it, but is the game that bad? He said its a really dumbed-down GG that plays more like Blazblue.
Any truth to this or is he overreacting? They have had the game for a week or so.
People who were extremely into +R might hate it because it made it not 100% setplay. It seems easier than old GG but execution is still hard relative to other games.
That said you already know how I fell about old players bitching about new games so I'd just say their loss, QQ more and GTFO lol
I'm absolutely loving it. But there are definitely some key differences from the XX series.
The game is a bit slower, and has been dumbed down a bit compared AC+R. It's about on par with Reload in terms of depth, though the new RC system is a pretty big change from before. Momentum isn't as big of a deal as it was in XX, you're gonna be able to pull off some of those dash specific combos anymore.
My only real complaint is a very obvious disparity in character strength. The difference between Faust/Zato/Axl/Sol compared to the rest of the cast is very obvious.
You guys are the best, just got the last copy of ps3 at gamestop!
I'd recommend digging into the missions before you start playing the game proper, it covers some good stuff that the basic tutorial doesn't.
does this game not play nice with anyone else's display on PS4? there's a good-sized chunk of picture that's off-frame, and my system definitely has the correct area calibration set. the in-game options do nothing for me either, no idea what the hell to do to fix it.
Nothing wrong with the Hong Kong PSN version I've been playing.
