Didn't think about instant block on the mappa. His command grab is 7 frame though, so at least the punch version is probably still safe on IB.

Edit : Looked it up and current values for Xrd aren't known, but from the AC+R values Mappa (either version) is definitely not safe on IB since it's a level 4 attack.

Tradeoff is he's Akuma but in a game that's even harder to escape oki. You mess up once and you can go ahead and start planning what you want to try next round.

Chipp has a DP with invul frames so he has a bit of an escape option compared to some other characters.

after a couple of nights with this i feel like i need to put it down until i can get my hands on a PS4 stick. holy shit i cannot do technical fighters on pad anymore

i mean, i can't really do them with a stick either, but i at least feel like i can achieve a basic level of competence.

Had a patch for the PS4 yesterday and the game is now completely unplayable online for me.

So I guess theyre at least working on the netcode, even if they're fucking it up atm

ended up doing the trick to heat it up then cool it to take out my Xrd disc, gonna try to repair it but i'm gonna need a whole day off to dismantle it. =\ at least Oli's friend offered to let us borrow her ps3 til it gets fixed, so i'm back in action! lol

God, I can't wait for the PS4 drivers come out. Game probably looks so beastly in 1080p.

I think I'm going to stick with Sol. Dude hits like a truck and I like his mixup game more than Chipps. His damage potential is through the roof.

Well I can give you my Sol corner combo. Adjust the start accordingly, but this is just how it goes with a 6P starter.

6P, wait for wall bounce, 5HS jc, jS, jD jc, jS, jD, 214K, land, 623HS, 214K.

Does around 186 off a 6P starter, can also be done after a RCed throw, a gunflame, RCed sweep (with a quick dash up), or command grab with the wall behind you. It's similar to one of the trials involving Dragon Install, but you can't follow up with anything but a DP after the dive kick because it doesn't bounce high enough/have enough hitstun without Dragon Install.

I was also bored last night and experimenting with the highest damage combos possible. Managed to pull off a 383 with Chipp, though I doubt you'll ever hit a real world situation of a full risc bar and a mortal counter starter.
