    Music: Castielle (Progressive Rock)

My roommate's in a prog rock band and they're gearing up for a second album. I enjoy them quite a bit so I figured I'd share.

Their first concept album tells a linear story - there's a summary floating somewhere Ill have to find later - and their second is to have a wild west theme.

Give a listen. Feedback is appreciated.

    --------------------------------------

Bred in the Memphis music scene, Castielle formed in 2010 with the sole intention of making the music they enjoy. With years of experience and backgrounds in genres varying from pop punk to metal, the product of their writing isn't easy to label. Castielle has heard comparisons to Progressive acts such as Circa Survive, Rush, and Coheed and Cambria.

Live HD performance from last summer. Ignore the horrible video cuts.

A few good tracks on there - bought it to show support.
    When's the next album?

    Bah, I'm so misinformed.

While a second album was in the works, they took a break to work on their sketch comedy channel. Don't know when tbey'll pick it back up.

Thanks for the purchase! I'm still working on getting the plot summary.

A summary would be awesome. I'm a fan of concept/story albums like Coheed & Cambria's work, The Prize Fighter Inferno, Kamelot's 'Epica' & 'The Black Halo', etc.

After a few listens, I like track 3, 5, 6, and 8 the most. I want to like #06 'Your Strings are Showing' the most, but the "Like a puppet but less entertaining" break is really jarring to me.

Sorry about the delay on the summary. The writer doesn't have the original write-up on hand but it may yet exist in his gmail. He did point out a small caption/annotation relating to the story on each songs individual bandcamp page.

Also, sad to say, a couple members have parted ways for the time being. The writier (vocalist) and my roommate are writing new material which may or may not be released under the Castielle name, with or without the whole group.

Also, in the dittytv stream, there is an alternate version of Broken Chains Day (which I prefer) featuring a break in music during one of the choruses.

Seems they're selling the digital album for $1+PWYW.
