"Oh Mr. Johnson, it says on here that you're black. It looks like we're gonna have to audit you."
Replace black with conservative.
Yea no big deal though guys. Continue the circle jerk.

Yes, because everyone else circle jerking is more likely than you just not getting it.
this thread should have been about the DOJ seizing AP records, the IRS stuff isn't a scandal, that's just the IRS doing its job.
Conservative groups being targeted for audits by the IRS
is to
Communists, Civil rights protestors, leftists being targeted for assassination by the FBI in the 70's
as
The prohibition of officially organized prayer in public schools
is to
The prohibition of student GLBT/atheist organizations in public schools
as
The westboro baptist church picketing soldier's funerals
is to
Mosques in downtown New York
as
Iraq
is to
9/11
I could keep going

But it isn't what happened. Again, the first groups in question were in status and applying for renewals. They do not have to provide certain pieces of info. Denying them renewal because they won't answer questions you aren't allowed to ask is both amoral and in some of the cases illegal.
Afterwards they went for new groups and bias became the issue. They were worried about Citizens United and wanted to crackdown...so they chose a blatantly not random sample of new apps and flipped them the bird. Before election season. In Ohio. Hence the investigation.
I work for the IRS, and this is only even a story because of politics. Shit like this is constantly coming across my desk. More recently fraud identified a trend with falsified Mexican birth certificates on returns claiming Earned Income Credit, and all agents were sent an alert about the scheme. The result? You take a second look at Mexican birth certificates, obviously. You ask for additional substantiation or originals if relationship is in doubt, and it's not fucking racial profiling by doing so. This is no different. 501(c)(4) applications doubled; a trend was identified. Additional questions were asked to those meeting the criteria of the alert, per procedure.
Politicians need a talking point, let them have one. Maybe if they talk loud enough nobody will notice that the IRS will be shutdown nationwide on Friday (one of seven days incoming) because of the sequester they spent 2 years failing to resolve.
ELECTION SEASON lol. Do you even realize that Steven Miller was acting commissioner on the job for a matter of months, and the person in charge at the time this happened was appointed by Bush?
there's a difference between a trend in fraud and the rise of 501c4 with citizens united, and choosing specifically to target groups that sound like anti-tax groups
Newsflash: this was a trend in fraud, and you don't have to be on the inside to be aware of the many public examples of such.
And as I'm sure you know, PACs do not qualify for 501(c)(4) tax exemption status.
I know you've got a thing for me, Mazmaz, but I'm taken. I'm sorry. It just won't work out.
Damn leftist IRS workers.
Stephen Colbert's take from last night.
If anyone remembers, last year Colbert made himself a super pac to joke around with. He brought in the lawyer who made that happen for some info on this.
Yeah, that was pretty good.
Spoiler: show
I'm honestly shocked that people react so extremely to fox news as to think this is "ok" and not a big deal.
Just because they're being ridiculous and trying to pin it on dems/obama doesn't mean what actually happened isn't wrong.
Plow comin' in with the ol' middle ground fallacy again
