You have access to 2 pets at all times when you're a ranger. When your one pet is low on health, swap to the other so it doesn't die. If it does die, it'll take 30 seconds or whatever to be able to swap to it again.

Not to my knowledge, but there are various things you can do that can increase your exp per zone like doing more events, mining, rezzing, etc... Basically if you just rush through each zone, you're gonna level up super slow and have a bad time.

Both. Battlegrounds in GW2 is called sPvP which you can access in your menu whenever. It has it's own special gear that you can mix and match to whatever spec you may be rocking at the time... There is no resilience stat in GW2 fyi.

There's a bunch of end game gear you can use with that karma, I'd recommend it unless there have been some serious upgrades to gear from when I last played. You'll probably have to ask somebody who's played more recently on that one, but here's the link to all that karma end game gear:

I don't play Ranger so idk any advice for that, I know a ton of people use bears leveling since they're the tankiest though.
HUD customization sucks, most you can do is swap between "simple" party UI and move your chat/minimap to the top or bottom by dragging them.
Partying doesn't drop exp at all, if you both tag a mob you both get full exp. As Rhyis said though, literally everything gives exp. Mobs also give bonus exp based on how long they've been alive. You can get like 4x the exp per mob if you're roaming around killing stuff nobody has touched for a while. That and the dynamic events that pop up can make a huge diff.
Click crossed swords at top left to enter Heart of the Mists, which is structured PvP. You have everything unlocked and gear is all balanced with diff stat combos you can choose, so everyone is on an even playing field (-class balance lol), on the contrary WvW uses PvE stats/gear. It'll scale you to 80 but you'll be at a disadvantage compared to 80s in decked out gear.
Those purple hearts are karma, which you get super quick later anyway. If you see a nice upgrade you want don't be afraid to grab it, but saving some can be nice since you can get good end game gear with it later.
