Thought we were doing well there for a bit...
Yeah given it was only the two of us, I should have used a weapon I was more familiar with.
in time to humiliate myself
ok it's go time!
I always die at least onceah well Gj
How did you guys mount it?, I did it once but not sure how i did it
Sprint off a ledge, and while you are in the air, unsheathe attack. You will have a chance to mount. Insect Glaive can 'pole vault' anywhere, so we are mounting spammers.
While mounted press X to stabbity while the monster icon is green, and stop X spam and hold R when it is orange or red. Alternatively you can hold R the whole time and just stop pressing X when it freaks out.
That was pretty good.
You can mount by leaping from a higher elevation and striking the monster as you descend on it. If using the insect glaive, you can launch yourself.
I can't wait until this comes out; pretty much every other game will go on the back burner.
And I like that it looks so much better on the N3DS. I'm actually taking 2/13 off from work just to get into the game.
I need to play the charge blade more. I thought I would be more into the insect staff, but I don't know if I can keep up with it.
I played longsword and hunting horn in 3U, but I also wanted to try ranged. I've heard that the bow mechanics changes a bit, but I never really played it, so it shouldn't bother me if I pick it up in 4U.
You know, I thought Bow did change quite a bit, but I think that the bow in the demo is just garbo. It just seemed like it only has one charge level which I found very very odd. Anyway, I have heard that they haven't changed as much I thought though.
I have been spending the last few days watching Gaijin Hunter's tutorials on youtube to familiarize myself. Really really helped with the Insect Glaive and the X, X, backwards+A, to polevault attack, or just the X>X>A infinite combo.
I used a TON of bow in MHFU and loved it. The skill that gives you a huge attack boost with less than 10% HP and bow against Rajang was a blassssssst. The Kelbi Bow in MH3U really kinda bummed me out on bow a little.
Wish MM and this game wernt out at the same time
Will be hard to split time :O
Gore Magala, soloed, 3:46 left on the clock and died once. Didn't do super great, but it was my first try. Switchaxe got some very nice new combos! One in particular that very quickly leads into the Sword Burst attack. I generally pick a new weapon to start with every game... in MH3U it was Switch Axe and it is going to be very difficult not to start with that again with its new moves.
Solo you mean offline or local play?
Hoping the offline matchmaking is better for the real version. Having to communicate ID each time sucks
I've played through most of the weapons now and Switch Axe is still my favorite. Of course it helps that I'm comfortable with it. I think Insect Glaive is a lot of fun as well, and very combo friendly.
EDIT: Because I feel like venting.
Took on Experienced Gore Magala for the first time. Was using Switch Axe since I was comfortable with it. Broke fucking everything on him (head, midsection/wing?, tail), only had 5 minutes left. Caught him sleeping in the area that is split into two smaller areas by a small cliff. He went into rage mode with the two lightning antenna on his head. Broke those again just as he finishes his multi-stage explosion breath thing and carts me. Ran out of time before I could run back.
I'm sure he was only a few hits from getting him.
I'm really liking the Charge Axe, I used to main Greatsword and Bow, I probably still will, but the bow in the demo feels pretty bad, was still useable the way I play bow, but could have been better, utterly destroyed Gore Magale with the greatsword though, definately excited for the full release :D
Will this game come to eshop? I can't preorder from Nintendo Eshop website and it doesnt say anything to confirm it on the eshop on 3ds
I don't see why it wouldn't be up on the eshop considering the bundle comes with a pre-installed version
Oh sorry, definitely meant offline. I don't know his moves even remotely well enough to bother with soloing him on local. I did manage to beat him solo... for half a fight when people online all dropped out about 1/2 way through. That doesn't count though. That 25 minute time limit stresses me out. =P Seems like if you stay right up under his face/legs he isn't so hard to deal with.
