As long as you understand the animations on any of his moves involving his tail, you can basically hang out right behind his legs and just wail on him, moreso if there's anyone at a distance for him to target with his ranged attacks.

Poison is a decent catch all if the rest of the stats are good. I'm using the Chameleos SA since it has solid raw/purple/power phial on top of the poison, which is mostly just a bonus.

Btw follow up on this, only Dalamdur/Shah Dalamdur and Yian Garuga are immune to poison. There's no mob where Poison is super effective, but since it works on 97% of monsters in the game it's a good choice if the raw and other stats are up to par.

If you have the MH4G Dex or whatever you can see how much damage Poison does to every monster barring some exceptions. Alternatively the monster entries on Kiranico also list how much damage poison does over the duration. Some monsters do take substantially more damage for example, Deviljho takes 360 damage with a poison proc and 300 damage from a blast proc while Bracchydios only takes 200 poison damage and 100 blast.

A general rule of thumb is if a monster has more HP than normal for it's rank it'll take more Poison/Blast damage to offset the difference.

I did that for the most part, but there's still some online quests to unlock permanent drive and the second wystone slot.

So many people are rolling into Apex fights just sporting a single non-drive stone though, which is an insta kick in any decent group.

Go to the Palico board in the back of your house and go to the bottom option, Hire Bonus Palicoes. He should be there.

You can revert the aiming controls back to the classic MH style in the options menu. Unless you are referring to something else but that was the main thing that annoyed me about Bow until I changed it back to the original Freedom Unite style i.e. Aiming with R and Charging with X.
