Looking for benchmark scores using an FX 8350 and/or 6300 with a XFX 7870 GHz

Or equivalent graphics card on maximum settings. I'm asking this since I run that GPU with a PII 965 overclocked to 3.9 GHz with a overclocked IMC (or known as CPU/NB) at 2.4 GHz and running on maximum settings on 1980x1080 on fullscreen gives me a benchmark of high 5400 to 5500. I'm definitely going to buy a new CPU for FF14 since I couldn't run 11 on full on my old rig but wanted to know how well the asking CPUs run since I might hold out for steamroller if it's not that much better.

    AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor
    32666.988MB
    AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series(VRAM 4095 MB) 8.17.0010.1191

Keep in mind I have it overclocked to 4.51 (standard is 4.0). I also have an AMD Sapphire Radeon 7970 6GB graphics card with amazing ram. but the 8350 is a beast processor. The only thing I'd like to add as an opinion, is that currently Intel has an upperhand on AMD for processors. And I believe they are releasing a new processor in early June which might lower the cost of other processors. However I experienced a lot of bullshit back in the day with Intel, so Im an AMD fan for life. So take that into consideration when selecting a processor

That video card is beyond my GHz edition 7870, so jealous. Yeah my previous rig was an AMD and I don't see myself switching to Intel what with price/performance. I guess with the lack of other similar AMD setups I should retool my question. MMO are very CPU intensive games but will FF14: ARR need a better CPU vs GPU? This question stems from a scene from the latest benchmark. It's after the scene with the Flame Tarus (I use Tarus since it looks similar to their FF 11 counterpart) where we peer inside a gated community/town with a large revolving crystal and then the camera pans to the sunlit sky. The score starts to stagnate when the crystal is in view, is this a CPU or GPU issue? For posterity, this isn't the only instances of a slowdown but the most pronounced. Thank you for chiming in Nighteagle.

I would vote for the CPU. costs roughly 200 for the best AMD processor at newegg.com. Might find it cheaper elsewhere if you search for the model number at like amazon or ebay or something. It would be that 200 up against a video card that would roughly cost 450-500, and if you wanted to spend that much, you could get the same processor along with a liquid cooling system to help OC it even more. Just make sure you have a decent size of RAM to run everything efficiently. If you have to, get the processor and some more RAM. Plenty of different things you could sink your money in to, and in my experience, you should only get a new and better graphics card when A) yours is out of date, or B) when your other components are all up to date (enough to run pretty damn good)
