Funny if a new player starting on a legacy server will be seeing parties everywhere begging for DRGs and MNKs for the first time in FF history.

At least we'll have the other 25 servers to queue up with. Seriously hope they add more Legacy servers, shits going to be a fkfest of endgame shells.
This is a good point, kinda subtle. When they collapsed the original, what, 22 servers into 10, they were dealing with ghost town servers. If 75% of all the 1.0 players come back when Jesus Reborn launches, will that make all the existing servers just crammed?
I'm sure they've thought of it but I'd like to hear them say so.
Thing is the 1.0 servers couldn't handle 5000 simultaneous connections, even thought they were meant to. This led to 1.0 having more servers than it needed to. Still, I think there will be problems. Especially since everyone and their dog who has been put on a JP server is planning to transfer to Excalibur.
Confound it! We' ve lost contact with the main host!

Slightly bad news for me since I was planning on rolling on Durandal (JP server) but wanted the option to party up with NAs occasionally...
Oh wells. I guess I'll find new friends in the Oceania region?
What's bugging me is that I got an excellent connection on a JP server and good one on an NA/EU one. I don't know if SE is planning on relocating the servers they preferred for EU players to Europe. I hope so though.
I had excellent on NA servers and wife had Poor on the same server and network so take that as you will.
Where do you see the connection status?
In character selection, when you pick servers afair.
I think the "world" button at the top right is also clickable prior to starting a character to see connection status, in addition to at actual server select.
A nicely made Server status web page. Link is also in useful links thread.
