Destructoid's review is also retarded in that the author opens it by saying he's already lost interest in Halo and then knocks the game for assuming knowledge from Halo 4's narrative. A sequel requires knowledge of its predecessor to get the most out of it? You don't fucking say.

From what I've read, there's almost no explanation for Blue Team -- players who have only played the games go from Chief being a lone wolf to suddenly having chemistry and history with his team.

I'm not opening that spoiler, but speaking in a more broad sense, I don't think requiring knowledge from some of the "extended" (if you can really call it extended) universe is a bad thing. We're on the opposite end of the Bungie spectrum where they attempted to make each campaign as accessible as possible and ended up with one-note stories. Hell, the inclusion of Blue Team would not be remotely as significant as it is had they not already existed and spent extensive time in the spotlight in various books.
