They haven't really shown much story wise
They haven't really shown much story wise
Also you don't have to watch. I've watched a couple but I have no idea what the plot of this game is. (might be partly because I still need to play DDD)
At this point I feel like the remake was just Square trying to generate buzz.
They're definitely showing too much at this point. Why the fuck are you spoiling us with how/who fights Aqua? Why even show us that she fell to darkness in the first place?
I don't get their business practices sometimes.... Unless it's such a minor fight that in the grand scheme of things the other huge things that occur in the game make this plot point look silly in comparison. Either way though I don't get it.
Because it's interesting and fun to watch if you want to watch?
That was like 10 seconds of a fight, which didn't include any RCs, DMs or any other surprises and mostly just showed shit you've seen from Phantom Aqua already.
The content of the fight or how long it is was not my point. My issue is that they keep spoiling their own game with each trailer that comes out. It's not breadcrumbs anymore, it's major plot points from the game being exposed in a trailer. Like the fact that Vanitas finds Ven. I will watch a KH3 trailer because like any other fan of the series, you're bound to click on it and watch it. I was still under the impression that I will not be spoiled by the own creators of the game.
If you don't see that then I don't know what to tell you.
The key point is you don't have to watch it. Trailers have been doing things like that forever so if you haven't figured that out now (and keep coming to a thread where you know spoilers exist) then I don't know what to tell you.
If you really cared about being spoiler free then it's easy to avoid spoilers, but coming to a thread and watching all the trailers they release is your fault, not theirs.
I considered putting that in spoiler tags but as it was already mentioned you see aqua falling into darkness from the E3 trailer etc. Honestly I'm surprised they even showed the intro to the fight and some of it at all. If anything I feel like once december & early jan we're going to need a spoiler thread to keep seperate than this basic thread. Because you know god damn well KH3 spoilers going to be out in full god damn effect in janurary.
If any other weird ass shit pops up I'll slap a spoiler tag on it if no one else does.
The creator already said he doesnt even consider it a spoiler in the grand scheme of things. It must not be that big a deal by the end of the game and is why they're showing it now.
Inb4 it's solved in the first 3 hrs of the game.
If your gonna get triggered by the slightest thing being revealed then stop watching trailers christ.
Not going to lie, after this video and a couple other parodies about Kingdom Hearts, I do not regret bailing on this series after the gameboy advance game. Bleh.
I mean most of the games have fantastic gameplay soooo you're loss.
The story is convoluted AF with too much magical brainwashing/amnesia/stasis/deus ex machina/insert anime trope here BS, but the games are so fun to play I don't even care. Wanting to know the story and have it make sense is something unfortunate for us. After I watched a series of videos explaining it (non-parody style) I decided to give up caring about it and just enjoy the games for what they are lol.
Feels like Nomura didnt plan on the first game doing that well, whole story past first game is retcons galore trying to shoehorn into the original story.
I think a lot of fantasy writers tend to write themselves into corners by needing to write something more and more exciting and unexpected in sequels, to keep one-upping themselves. Which eventually turns into a mess as the plot twists and surprise setpieces keep needing to be more over the top and unrealistic. You end up with a disjointed mess.
Nomura didn't write shit. Kasushige Nojima hasn't had a decent idea since Final Fantasy X.
I'm not even going to try defending the KH story lol. That being said, I fucking love it and am 100% invested at this point
