Beyond that, Maleficent and Pete shoulda just been cut. They teased at something more going on behind the scenes the entire game, and it came to naught, except for tying in their teaser above. Story wise, I feel let down overall. So little happened the entirety of the game until the last 1/6th of the game or so. Kairi felt kinda like Lunafreya from FFXV, built up like she'd have some significance or role, but there wasn't anything there. Her getting a keyblade resulted in like a total of 2 scenes even seeing it pulled out, nevermind actually using it. Disney story wise, I liked Monstropolis the most since it played off as a post movie story. The others either just took place during a part of the movies, or had little to do with anything beyond being set in that world, like Toy Box. I think I enjoyed the Caribbean the most cause of the visuals (realistic Sora looked pretty good) and the change up from game play.

Has SE ever mentioned DLC for the game? I enjoyed the gameplay well enough that I'd prolly consider buying DLC if it was like new worlds and shit. Even just remasters of old worlds that didn't make it into the game would prolly get a consideration.

Just platinumed this sucker. Golden Highwind is OP as fuck but it was too bad that by the time I actually got it I was done all the gummi ship stuff. Given the boss's appearance in the second zone and surprisingly low health, I'm curious if it's meant to be killed earlier then when I did it.

The mini-games weren't too bad. The fucking festival dance took forever but the others weren't too too tedious. And using links is easy as fuck lol. Don't even need to attack enemies, just stand near a save point and use it, use the finisher and recharge and move onto the next one lol. The 2D games were pretty quick too, there's just a stupid amount of them. But some you can get a score in in like 20 seconds so it wasn't that bad.

But yeah, anyone going for platinum still, I really REALLY recommend saving level grinding for last. I was 92 by the time I only had that left and a few super quick runs in BG9 (I think 9, the one in Arendelle) and I was at 99 in like 5~10 minutes or so. I'd also recommend doing the minigames before you do the material gathering for synthesis. I got a Master's Medal that had an additional Lucky Lucky on it that probably would have made material gathering a bit easier.

Lol, not gonna lie, I beat the gummi ship boss not knowing it was THE boss. It was when I first got to that section of the game. My gummi ship was around level 50-60ish. I was still using the beginning highwind with better weapons/power/speed changed in for that level(I didn't know you could use those other ships regardless of cost). It was definitely hard, one shotting me most of its normal attacks, but I put on auto life and kept trying for about an hour. When I beat it and saw the trophy pop up, I was like "oh shit!"

I decided to start the series from the beginning again in solidarity with someone who's never played it before.

I just replayed KH1 the other day for Speedster, Unchanging Gear and Unbeatable trophy. I was reminded how much I really hate KH1. It has a decent story, but the opening few areas (Tarzan, Alice, Aladdin) are so bad. Destiny Island and Traverse Town is fine. The game is very dated in terms of controls and such too. Sora barely moves any distance when attacking. The camera is garbage, whether it's on manual, or auto. The controls are just clunky as all hell. Enemies break out of stagger all too often (I don't know how I never noticed this a few months ago). If you're doing the unchanging gear trophy, you do chip damage by the end. The second to last boss in the game took over 200 3 hit combos to kill, on beginner at level 50 >.>

MP bar is OP though.

Yeah, I'm being slowly reminded of everything I hate about it the first one (yet still enjoyed the game overall). Just finished Deep Jungle. Now I'm in Agrabah, which I don't remember hating..but I'm not looking forward to the Little Mermaid level, at all.

Figure of my gaming companion finishes KH1 before I do, then I'm just skipping ahead to CoM. Trying to play them in release order, since I do remember some mechanics improving. Looking forward to BBS and finishing it with Ventus and Aqua.

My buddy bought this game for his seven year old daughter, they are playing on the easiest difficulty setting. He had to call me and ask for help because they got stuck in Mt Olympus when you first have to start using the pop shot jumping section. I told him he was almost at the final boss of the area and the last thing he said before hanging up was “OH GOD THERE’S THREE OF THEM I GOTTA GO” and his daughter yelling in the background. Ha!

If you don't mind skipping a world, you can actually completely skip Atlantis and do Halloween Town in it's place and still complete the game.
