Star Wars: Battlefront (20v20 Combat, Star Wars: Skirmishfront)

From among the people I've gamed with for awhile, those that don't like the game are the people that need something telling them how great they are when they get a kill. Those that are willing to work within the framework of the game and complete objectives are having a blast. I'm unsure about the long term play-ability of this game, but it's fun right now.

My only complaint is how much I suck at flying any and all ships. I'm glad the hero pickups aren't OP.

Yeah, unless the other game modes are mind-blowing, it's hard to buy this over something like JC3. I really hate the fact that your accuracy is not improved via crouch or zoom and running full speed while shooting isn't penalized. My old FPS habits are hard to kick, so I played most of my matches with my lil bro YOLO-style since respawn is near instant and you're able to spawn ontop of allies lol

I can see where Hutch was coming from in the video. This game is either going to get boring after a month, or be a go to game for a quick 30 min session of wrekking nerds.

Just finished my last game for a bit, getting the hang of the pick-up system and how to flank Hoth, went 21-6 with like 4k points. and Isuck at these type of games tbh, so felt good!

Getting the AT-AT pick-up is so fun LOL.

Yeah, in it's current state being the big phrase here. It's a beta, they are using it to test servers and what not. I had a couple hiccups last night, but my experience was overall pretty good.

I"m sure servers will be a thing and making parties will be easier along with there ofc being more to do than two maps.

This so much. There´s only 3 things I´m really impressed by: 1. Sounds are fucking amazing, definately amongst the best I´ve heard really. 2. Graphics obviously. Running this on 1440p DSR on my 1080p monitor Ultra settings on my new rig and it looks stunning appart from some imo terrible animations like strafing in 3rd person. Dat hip movement looks broken as fuck. 3. Optimization. Holy shit it runs smooth as silk. Running at 90+ FPS 100% of the time. Still some headroom there if you´re gaming on a 60Hz monitor like me.
Appart from that tho, Casualfront. Fun for an hour here and there, nice eye and ear candy. Not more not less.

My 10 minute impression: Sound and graphics are great. Gameplay is shit. I fucking shoot people (as the rebels) like 15 times getting them to slivers of life, and then suddenly someone else (or them) turns around and instant gibs me. Grenade throws are a fucking bitch. seriously. fuck you grenades. pussy shit comes out of nowhere and you are instantly dead. One mother fucker on the enemy team was fucking unkillable. i even fucking got the drop on him (as rebels again) and he fucking jetpacked off at a sliver of life, and then i got flanked trying to chase his ass. this one mother fucker ruined the game for me. I had (relatively) no problems killing people as storm troopers but as soon as i went rebel the weapons were garbage. piece of shit level 10s with full unlocks flanking every fucking where on the map.
I rage deleted the game after two rounds due to this mother fucking cheap ass son of a bitch. every fucking time i engaged him he would kill me. dudes name was smoker_Bandit

Anyway, as mentioned by Virg, the optimization once I updated my GPU drivers was AMAZING. After playing some poorly optimized crap recently this is a lovely change.

Really not a fan of the dogfighting mechanics. I came in expecting freeflow dogfighting like battlefield games, or previous battlefront games and what I got was this weird "can-only-really-move-while-locked-on" bullshit. I've tried every combination of messing with the settings and changing my mouse sensitivity and I cannot make the air vehicles control smoothly. It feels like your cursor is constantly being dragged back to the center of the screen and you're fighting to actually fucking turn the vehicle.

Basically if you get somebody behind you, you're done.

I could maybe understand that in a bulky TIE-Fighter, but when the A-Wing handles like you're flying through molasses whenever you try to turn there's a problem.

There´s also allready the 1st beta-hacks out there for this so if you´re playing on PC that might´ve been a part of your frustrating experience. Also lol @ "dogfighting mechanics". It´s terrible, awkward and needs changing. Somehow I´m still able to dominate in the air after getting used to it for a like half an hour. Went 53-3 on my highest scoring match playing 75% of it in one Tie-Fighter. Was pretty fun stomping people and the rage was real. Also air superiority is a key part in winning on the Rebel side of Walker Assault since X and A-Wings make short work of AT-STs and help a metric fuckton on AT-ATs. Oh and...for the love of god save your orbital strike for voulnerable AT-ATs. One strike and a 60% health AT-AT will be toast.
Fuck talking about this makes me kind of mad thinking about how great this game could have been if not for too much casual mechanics and lacking content due to movie deadlines.
