I'll be really happy to have a 200+ DZ. I'm still a DZ noob farming solo because of my limited playtime and every time I meet a rogue I get killed within a split second and find out that they're over 200 GS.
I know my gear needs work, but I have 3/4 Stikers and stumbled into a Nomad vest so it's not like I'm running shitty purples or something.
Can any of you guys that actually get to play give me an idea of DPS/HP/Skill you have and your GS? I'm around 140k DPS/55k HP/17 or 18k Skill. Not sure if the Firearms, Stamina, and Electronics values on the gear I have are low or if there's some other problem.
I've pretty much abandoned the game at this point but from what I remember, I'm GS 193, 165k DPS/65k HP/13k skill. Close to that anyway. And I still get fucking wrecked by every rogue I see. I think I've only bumped into one guy that I had a legit back-and-forth fight with, everyone else kills me in like one shot. *edit* I should add that I haven't reached that magical 65% mitigation through armor yet, but I am around 58%.
I like the idea of a 200+ DZ bracket. Some of the other changes seem really good too but I don't know if it's enough to draw me back in at this point. Some positive reports of lots of glitch/bug fixes would go a long way toward that.
191 GS - 170k DPS / 78k Health / 20k Electronics
And I've been messing around in S6 of D3 lately or watching hockey / reading; just no reason to play until the patch at least. Did the Weekly Incursion and a few dailies last week (when it actually reset...) and that was it.
Have a few different builds, couple are hovering around 200-230k DPS 60-75k HP 5-15k SP, depending if I want to run Strikers or Sentrys. My favorite build for group DZ is a Tacticians set, think it's at 160k DPS 75k HP and 25k SP. Good use of skills makes a huge difference in DZ fights, whether you're crit capping someone and making them take 2x damage with a buffed Pulse, full healing yourself and all team mates from the brink of death to full overheal + buff with Booster Shot, or sticky bombing a group of rogues for 80k+ damage. Most important thing is to get as close to armor cap as possible. Even being as close as 60% isn't advised. You'd be reducing your damage taken by another 12.5% if you increased that to 65%. Until 1.2 hits, Reckless goes beyond this, not only providing its +13% damage boost, but giving -10% DR too instead of +10% DR.
Regardless of what measures you take though, it's still possible for you to be countered and dropped. Someone decides to pull out Explosive Bullets and an M44, a skill power build sticky bombs your face off, a group of 4 uses their Survivor Links more effectively than you, someone stacks 3 stack Sentrys on you, etc. Best tip I can give is to run with a group and use your talents to focus on survival. Critical Save + Combat Medic gives you an 80% + 40% AoE heal to any teammates in the area with each medkit, plus if using it while in the final health segment, you'll gain -40% DR for 10 seconds. If running with a group Triage is amazing for keeping your skills off CD, First Aid, Med Kits, and Healing Stations will all drop your CDs by 15% each time a friendly is hit. For First Aid and Healing Stations, teammates can run in and out of the circle to continually grant you -15%, plus gaining a 15% reduction for themselves too. My personal favorite for a 4th talent is On The Move, killing an enemy while moving (you can be in cover and strafing, just as long as you're moving) grants a -30% DR for 10 seconds.
Most game breaking glitches have been fixed, though there's still a few left. One is None is still bugged forcing you to have 1 bullet left occasionally and having to swap weapons to fix it, Reckless is still providing -10% DR, and I'm sure a few other talents are still bugged that aren't coming to mind. You can still mobile cover through walls, but they've fixed most instances of this being a benefit. You can still skip portions of some missions like Police Station and General Assembly, and you can still get out of bounds in the DZ in some areas; most have had instant death areas added to them though. Talent stacking has been fixed AFAIK. They've also been banning (pretty effectively? idk, I'm on console) on PC. Reports range from people who haven't seen hackers in the DZ since they started doing it, to people claiming nothing has changed and there's still multiple hackers in every DZ instance. I'd imagine it's like most games; some hackers are still around and they're just smarter with when they use them.
It's not a bad time to play the game if you enjoy it, but like Wulf said, there's just not a lot of reason to play until 1.2. I'm still playing some myself just to stack more crafting mats and maybe get an upgrade if I can find a challenge Incursion group. If you plan on playing long term (if the changes are good) leveling up other characters will be a good use of time right now. Once things are settled out, having 2-4 weekly lock outs to burn for 240 gear will be a boon compared to the 1 you can get from a single character.
I'm currently at 195 GS 265k DPS , 65k health, 12k skill, & 65% dmg reduction. I like that setup for PVE but I'm probably going to try to trade some DPS for health for PVP. Messed around with gear and if i trade my backpack from firearms to stamina it'll drop my dps to 245k and boost my health to 77k.
I'm only at 54% damage reduction. My largest upgrade right now would be my backpack. Need to get something halfway decent. I have two, one has 487? armor the other 483?. Something like that, they're minuscule amounts apart. Neither one has great secondary stats and I don't think it's worth rolling them.
Where can I get the set pieces for holster, vest, and backpack? All in Incursion I'm guessing?
Down for weekly Hard Incursion later this afternoon / evening on PS4. Going to take off from work early.
Toss me a message when you want to do it. I'll probably be dicking around on Destiny.
I'll be around later in the evening. Just shoot me a message if you guys need me.
Popping on now; believe just Brill on PSN.
EDIT: Waiting until 7/730ish ET for Brill to be ready; log on around then if interested. Messing around in D3 until then.
I miss out on everything D:
Actually home for an evening. Looking for whatever if peeps wanna play
Thanks so much for the loots and the wins :D now i can do some actual damage while blowing shit up.
If anybody wants to add me on Xbox my gamertag is DaShiznit961. My gs is 204.
Finally did a run of Falcon Lost and got Striker's Holster and Pack. Pack was better than my current and the holster only had 2 stats on it versus my crafted 3 stat one. Used the pack to get 4/4 Striker's and keeping the holster just in case. Need to get Sentry holster and vest unless something else comes in I can change up.
Also bought the sniper with PxCs from tech wing to push my GS up to 196. Finally feeling not completely noob. Need to get my DZ rank up, still only 41. Feel like I'm finally making progress.
New sniper is great. The talents on it aren't that great, but I was using a purple bolt action. Was able to mod this one to give me around 100k DPS with an 18 shot mag. It's ridiculous how much better this thing is.
What GS should you be aiming for to do Falcon Lost challenging? I'm guessing more than GS it's about having a good team which is unlikely with PUGs.
GS is crap. Especially, how this is built. My Midas and Tenebre are wrecking and they aren't that high. I do have extremely complimentary mods in them, but still. I've gotten used to the Tenebre so much that Lincoln Tunnels, I can snipe the boss from the building that starts that last stretch. While I'm sure I would love other weapons, too, I'm in no hurry to replace these.
Yeah, but those are both high end weapons. I was using a 131 purple bolt action sniper so the difference is huge. The new sniper has about 1k less damage per hit, but fires much faster and has 18 shots in a mag rather than 5.
My next step is finding a new primary (SMG or AR). Will likely need to get into the DZ more for that.
Before I crafted my Tenebre, I was using First Wave M1A. I sometimes go back to it just because it fires like crazy and has capped accuracy.
Edit: I used bolt action when I stack headshot/crit/critD and know I can one-shot.
