It's like any other MMO release. They're trying to get everything "fixed," as quickly as possible. Things will slow down. Destiny was and is no different. FFXIV is the epitome of this atm from what I've heard. You have to allow these games to get tweaked and settled for the first year. I'm not sure why everyone seems to think every MMO was perfect at release, because the most successful ones are the ones that are in it fit the long haul and push past the awkward release phase. The rest just kind of give up and die.

You sure man? I mean, game launched on 3/8. 4/11 brought the first patch, trashing your gear for 204 weapons/240 gear sets. 5/24 brought 1.2 and more gear sets. 1.3 hitting on 6/28, adding more gear sets and an ilvl increase. That's a month-ish, plus almost two weeks for 1.2 (likely for massive bug fixes after the backlash of 1.1), between releases. Well rolled gear is not easy to get, you yourself getting a good set just a week before it's right back to the grind. I mean even XIV has a good 3ish months between content releases, no? Never played Destiny so I can't say much on that.

I don't really view this game as an MMO, it just seems excessive to have a goal to gear up right now.

I guess it depends on how you spend your time. If you focus on DZ, it's fast and easy to get decent gear. Next update sounds like they're finally adding a PvE activity that's comparable.

As it stands now, if you're a PvE person, the time you have to invest just isn't practical. The best gear drops in Falcon Lost and even with an all star team it takes entirely too long. You could kill bosses and extract a few gear set pieces in less time in DZ. It's unbalanced, and they're trying to correct that.

This is an MMO though. Idk if you mean MMORPG, which it's not. You can't play it offline. Name another online game that released nearly perfect and needed just a few small updates and came loaded with content.

And the wifi is shit here. No Division for me. I keep lagging to the point where when it stops I've been killed by something/someone. Though funny enough, I killed two rogues while this was going on. So apparently my lag fucked with them as well lol.

Some fuck-tarded shit is going to go down on the 28th, PS4 patch isn't ready. Can totally see servers not being handled correctly and even though we're not patched, vendors are listing shit we haven't been patched for causing crashes and craziness. They've shown to lack foresight for this kinda stuff.

On a brighter note, you can now reroll a single weapon talent with Weapon Kit crafting mats. Whether it takes a couple or a dozen is to be seen.

Couple of shitty nerfs/choices. Weapons rolled before the patch will not change, except for AUGs and Vectors getting a 10% damage nerf. New weapon bonuses (ARs: Enemy Armor Damage, LMGs: +20-30% extra damage to enemies out of cover, Shotguns: +Stagger, SMGs: Changed to CHD) won't be added to weapons created/dropped before this patch. Any SMGs that you get now will keep their CHC.

Strikers/Senty are having their 2 and 3 piece bonus nerfed, but they're adding back all of their power to a 5 set bonus, making a 4/2 split nerfed with the sets. Never really seen these sets as a problem since they changed Senty to semi-auto. Strikers has never been an issue, too many bullets miss in PVP or PVE with redicle bloom, moving targets, etc. No changes to the tank-tician meta.

Consumables are getting nerfed heavily. Incinerary Bullts now last 30% of what they do now (so 13ish seconds? Currently 30 + 10), and damage is reduced by 75%, though they go on to say that Explosive Bullets will do 1:1 damage of the bullet. Not sure how that fixes M44 one shots, but K.

They talked about the tacticians build being too tanky and then they nerf the DPS sets because they're too popular?
Really..? I wonder what everyone is gonna switch to next...

And then no mention of the nerfing of shock turrets that stun you and leave you useless while you get shot at for 10 seconds.

And hey maybe if my LMG wasn't aiming at the ceiling by the end of my magazine I'd actually use it.

Haven't played in over a month, but the latest patch looked pretty cool. Wish it would land on PS4 for this weekend as I'll have some downtime; would likely come back to mess around, but it seems like it isn't worth playing at this point until the patch hits. Have they said when PS4 patch is coming?

For the Underground expansion? It's a month after release on XBone for PS4 and PC. After it drops I'll probably come back and check it out.

Ah bummer; basically now experiencing the reverse of Destiny's exclusive PS4 content. I was hoping the technical parts of the patch would hit all platforms (weapon changes, crafting changes, etc.) while just the new mission/etc content would be delayed for PS4. Sounds like everything is delayed for PS4 though.

It was supposed to but they delay the general 1.3 patch until next week. Rumor mongers saying it was to cut content that was included that would infringe on the Microsoft exclusivity deal.

Well, this expansion certainly shakes shit up, doesn't it...

Didn't get on yesterday; downloaded the expansion and got caught up in Overwatch.

I read about the way it works a bit. How are the drops/rewards? Does it do well running it at 1 player, or is it like Challenge mode where you should really have 3-4?

I only had about an hour to play last night, so here's what I did.

Logged on, immediately got flagged for a side quest where you have to kill a few waves of easy NPC's to defend a quarantine area. The final guy drops a cell phone, and Rhodes wants to see it/work on it. The next side quest leads you into the Terminal, which is accessible through the back of the Base of Operations, where the reward vendor is. The steps down to the Terminal are super-annoying because they force you to walk slow, like the BoO entrance, and they're long. But once you're down there, you can fast-travel there directly so it's no big deal.

There's a table there where you configure your raid. At first, there's not much configuring to do: you play a normal-difficulty, one-phase raid with no optional Directives (handicaps that increase exp/rewards). The area you go to is randomly generated and throws waves of enemies at you. At GS 228, it was very easy on Normal, though harder than other Normal stuff. Completing this first raid completes the side quest, and I got a GS 268 backpack (B.L.I.N.D.) as a reward. I highly doubt that was anything other than a first-time reward though, Normal is so easy, if it were a common reward, everyone would all have GS 268 sets by now. And I saw lots of people at GS 231 already, indicating they had one GS 268 piece very early on.

Then I did a Hard op. I almost died a couple times, but it was still easy. A team of two would destroy it. I only almost died because being alone, all fire was focused on me. Same deal though: kill all the dudes, progress through the area, get reward. This time it was a GS 268 FireCrest ... mask I think.

That's all the actual raiding I did. But it looks like this is going to be REALLY good content.

There's higher GS stuff for sale on the NPC's now too. Plus you can reroll one Talent on high-end weapons now, which is excellent. Only bad thing about that is I actually found a sweet AR over the weekend that has three great talents on it already, lol! Deadly, Fierce, Destructive. I wish it wasn't burst-fire, but that helps with ammo and is making me work on improving my aim.

Cool. I have a GS at like 193 or something so Normal is probably it for me for a bit.

Just read an article that said every Underground rank you get a cache as well; max rank being 40 atm. Each cache gives a GS item that can pretty quickly increase your GS. Best method is to run Hard with a group for 750 xp/run continuously to rank up.

I'll be down. PS4 update is today, still no Underground or Dragon's Nest, but the new challenge modes and heroic modes are available, plus higher lvl HVT, new weapons, and higher GS items. Make sure to start the update ASAP, I dunno if it's just my PS4 but auto download just doesn't seem to work anymore and the update is 10 gigs and seems to be crawling.
